Job Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Accounts Receivable (A/R) Clerk to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will assist the business office in the overall billing and accounting functions. Experience in a healthcare setting is preferred.

Responsibilities:

• Support budgeting processes and financial record-keeping.
• Prepares and submits Medicare, Medicaid, private insurance, and private paying entities
• Responsible for patient accounts: interviews patients (or representatives) to arrange payment method; secures information on patient’s financial status; evaluates patient’s financial status; makes appropriate recommendations
• Verifies patient accounts to ensure charges and statements are accurate and timely
• Posts payments and charges to patient ledgers; balances daily receipts; collects delinquent accounts; evaluates need for and refers delinquent accounts to collection agencies
• Accurately prepare bank deposits
• Assist receptionist and BOM as needed

Skills:

• One (1) year in post-acute care or other medical-related field preferred
• Ability to be firm but pleasant
• Displays effective problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication skills for vendor interactions and internal coordination
• Familiarity with phone systems and handling phone inquiries
• Consistent follow-through and persistence with payors to receive payment
• Proficiency in financial management
• Experience with budgeting processes and financial record-keeping
