Description

Comunilife Inc. is looking for and Administrative Assistant for its Queens DHS Transitional Housing program. The Administrative Assistant is responsible for the office administrative functions program including maintaining program and client documentation, answering telephones, and other administrative duties. The Administrative Assistant supports procurement policies and procedures, orders office supplies, and prepares and maintains related program Office reports/records. This position is eligible for Comunilife's generous benefits and paid time off package including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, retirement employer contributions after 2 years, tuition reimbursement and professional development opportunities.
Essential Duties:
  • Manages office supply inventory, filing and petty cash
  • Updates and maintains resources
  • Completes or supports basic functions of bookkeeping and basic accounting
  • Maintains electronic database as appropriate
  • Handles all incoming and outgoing phone calls, department mail and deliveries
  • Greets and provides access to individuals entering the building.

Qualifications


Education and Experience Requirement(s)
  • Associate’s Degree in human services or related field
  • Two (2) years’ administrative work experience
  • Experience with individuals seeking asylum and new immigrant population
  • Bilingual skills in English/Spanish a plus
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills; proficiency with MS Office and Google product suites
  • Ability to perform and manage in a team approach; excellent interpersonal skills
  • Ability to handle complex challenges and balance multiple demands on time and attention
  • Ability and willingness to perform all duties as workload necessitates
