JOB DESCRIPTION:

Join our team as a Senior Infrastructure Project Manager, serving one of our esteemed clients in Washington, DC. As part of the Infrastructure Platform services, you will be integral to our department's PMO, leading the charge on the Modern Authentication Capital program. This role demands strong cross-functional team leadership, a focus on user adoption, and effective stakeholder communication. You'll adhere to industry best practices, utilizing robust project management tools, methodologies, and processes to ensure projects stay on budget and schedule, from inception to full implementation and rollout of hardware and software solutions.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead complex programs and projects, collaborating with multiple departments within Amtrak and external vendors.
  • Employ formal project management techniques, including project scheduling, risk management, change management, and quality assurance.
  • Direct technical leads, project team members, and external consultants/contractors.
  • Develop and maintain all essential project documentation, ensuring comprehensive coverage from project charter to post-implementation evaluation.
  • Generate weekly program status reports and conduct necessary project status meetings.
  • Manage project schedules using MS Enterprise Project Management (EPM) and MS Project Professional 2010, reporting on schedule and budget variances.
  • Establish and maintain SharePoint project sites within the EPM system.
  • Conduct ongoing risk management, identifying and mitigating risks within programs/projects.
  • Communicate project activities, achievements, issues, and resolutions through regular status reports.
  • Ensure timely completion of all activities required for operational readiness reviews.
  • Collaborate on the creation and evaluation of Statements of Work (SOWs) for vendor engagements.
  • Provide SOWs for ongoing support services as needed.
  • Evaluate criteria for product and proposal analysis.

DELIVERABLES:

  • Successfully deliver programs and projects on schedule and within budget.
  • Present projects at Quality Checkpoints and Department Level Project Reviews.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor's degree in project management, Accounting, Business Administration, Finance, Economics, Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum seven years of hands-on Program and Project management experience, including project initiation through implementation.
  • Extensive experience in technology management, analysis, and administration.
  • Proven ability to engage effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Previous involvement in Identity and Access Management projects.
  • Familiarity with Azure AD concepts and Mobile Multifactor Authentication.
  • Strong analytical skills with demonstrated experience in applying them effectively.
  • Excellent communication skills, capable of tailoring messages to diverse audiences.
  • Track record of managing multiple projects concurrently.
  • Proficiency in MS Project Office Professional, MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio.
  • Experience with project management tools such as MS Project Server (EPM), Primavera, etc.

PREFERRED:

  • Four or more years of experience with project management tools like Microsoft Project Server (EPM).
  • PMP Certification.
