JOB DESCRIPTION:

We are seeking a meticulous and dedicated Manual Tester to ensure the quality and reliability of our software products. As a Manual Tester, you will play a critical role in identifying defects, verifying fixes, and ensuring that our applications meet the highest standards before release. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail, excellent communication skills, and a passion for delivering high-quality software.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

TEST PLANNING AND PREPARATION:

  • Collaborate with the development team and stakeholders to understand project requirements and develop comprehensive test plans.
  • Design detailed test cases and test scripts based on functional specifications, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
  • Prioritize test cases based on risk assessment and criticality to ensure optimal test coverage.

TEST EXECUTION:

  • Execute manual test cases accurately and efficiently to identify defects and ensure software functionality meets requirements.
  • Conduct various types of testing, including functional testing, regression testing, integration testing, and system testing.
  • Document test results, including defects found, and communicate findings clearly to the development team.

DEFECT MANAGEMENT:

  • Report defects promptly and accurately using a defect tracking system, providing all necessary details for reproduction and resolution.
  • Work closely with developers to troubleshoot and resolve defects, ensuring timely fixes and retesting as needed.
  • Verify fixes and ensure that resolved issues meet acceptance criteria before closing defects.

QUALITY ASSURANCE:

  • Adhere to established testing processes, methodologies, and quality standards to ensure consistent and reliable testing practices.
  • Participate in peer reviews, walkthroughs, and inspections to improve overall product quality and identify areas for enhancement.

DOCUMENTATION:

  • Maintain thorough and up-to-date documentation of test cases, test plans, and test results.
  • Update test documentation as necessary to reflect changes in requirements, software functionality, or testing processes.

CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT:

  • Identify opportunities to streamline testing processes, improve efficiency, and enhance the effectiveness of testing activities.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies related to software testing.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Proven experience as a Manual Tester or Quality Assurance Analyst in a software development environment.
  • Strong understanding of software testing principles, methodologies, and best practices.
  • Proficiency in designing, writing, and executing manual test cases.
  • Experience with defect tracking systems (e.g., JIRA, Bugzilla) and test management tools.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a meticulous attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to effectively communicate with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
