Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized individual to join our team as an Accounting Assistant. As an Accounting Assistant at a Payroll/HR/Benefits company, you will work with the Tax and Finance team to meet their short and long term goals. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong numerical and analytical skills to contribute to the smooth operation of our organization.
Responsibilities:
- Assist with internal accounts payable as well as client benefits payable, including issuing payments and reconciling vendor statements
- Assist with accounts receivable by issuing invoices and making bank deposits
- Assist with reconciling bank accounts and resolving discrepancies on a daily basis
- Assist with compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations
- Make necessary tax rate updates for clients in UKG
- Perform other accounting and administrative tasks as assigned
Experience:
- Familiarity with bookkeeping principles
- Proficient in clerical tasks such as data entry and filing
- Understanding of accounts receivable, debits, credits, and general ledger
- Previous experience in payroll or related field preferred
