JOB SUMMARY:

The Summer Camp Manager oversees the day-to-day operations of the camp, including staff supervision, program development, camper safety, and administrative tasks. They ensure a positive and enriching experience for campers and staff while upholding camp policies and standards.

ILLUSTRATIVE TASKS:

• Develop and implement summer camp programs, activities, and schedules in alignment with camp goals and objectives.
• Supervise and evaluate camp staff, including counselors, instructors, and support personnel.
• Coordinate staff training, meetings, and professional development opportunities.
• Manage camper enrollment, registrations, and payment processing.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and licensing regulations.
• Collaborate with vendors, contractors, and community partners for program enhancements and special events.
• Handle camper and parent inquiries, concerns, and feedback in a timely and professional manner.
• Monitor camp facilities, equipment, and supplies for maintenance and inventory needs.
• Prepare and maintain camp budgets, financial reports, and documentation.
• Participate in camp committees, planning meetings, and evaluations.
• Maintain a clean and organized camp environment, including equipment and supplies.
• Address behavioral issues and conflicts using positive behavior management techniques.
• Follow emergency procedures and protocols as needed.
• Perform any and all other duties/responsibilities/tasks as assigned.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor’s Degree in recreation management, education, or a related field preferred. High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in camp management, athletic programs, education, or related field.
• Availability to work flexible hours, including weekends and evenings during camp sessions.
• First aid and CPR certification (preferred).
• Proficiency in English and Spanish required.
• An equivalent combination of education and experience will also be taken into consideration.

Job Type: Temporary

Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week

Schedule:

• 8 hour shift
• Afternoon shift
• After school
• Monday to Friday
• Weekends as needed
