The Miami Children’s Museum is seeking open-minded, motivated, and experienced Educators to join its 2023 -2024 school year seasonal and one-day camps! Assistant Teachers provide essential input and creativity into the planning and implementation of the camp’s unique, cultural, theme-based curriculum ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Essential Functions

• Participate in required meetings, trainings, and program assessment.
• Assist Camp Teachers in preparing and leading daily activities.
• Follow the program schedule and actively participate in all aspects of the camp day.
• Ensure safety, health, and well-being of campers.
• Always supervise children (i.e., in the classroom, park, museum galleries, and off-site field trips).
• Set good examples for campers, including respect for personal property, clean-up, sportsmanship, and following rules.
• Follow protocol for recording attendance and signing out campers.
• Monitor camper behavior and apply appropriate behavior-management techniques.
• Communicate regularly with camp managers regarding concerns or challenges.
• Other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• Minimum of 2 years of experience working with children ages 4 – 10.
• Ability to respond to discords with creative problem-solving techniques.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Bilingual preferred.

SEASONAL CAMPS

• Teaching Session: June 10th - August 2nd, 2024

Must commit to the entire session.

License/Certification:

• Child Development Associate Certification (Preferred)

Ability to Relocate:

• Miami, FL 33132: Relocate before starting work (Required)
