The City of Springfield is looking for an Administrative Assistant to serve in a vital role on their staff! Are you ready to serve the community?
The City of Springfield has multiple departments with Administrative Assistants that play a vital role in assisting and supporting the community through their department.
The current vacancies that we are looking to fill is with the Springfield Police Department, Public Works Department, and Workforce Development Department. The Springfield Police Department has a couple of vacancies in various divisions.
As an Administrative Assistant, you will perform clerical office duties which may include, but are not limited to: preparing correspondence both written and electronic, records and other materials for assigned department, responding to public inquiries over the telephone and/or in-person regarding city policies and procedures, taking minutes for various meetings, arranging meetings and schedules for staff members, receiving and distributing mail, and performing other office administration tasks as necessary.
Depending on assignment, may be responsible for handling financial transactions.

Qualifications and Requirements
Experience, Education, and Training
Requires at least two years of experience in general office work;
OR
2 years of related college or vocational education from an accredited college/university.
PREFERRED
Experience with an emphasis on contact with the public.
Must type accurately at a rate of approximately 40 words per minute. Licensing/Certification
Assignment to some departments requires incumbent to possess a valid driver's license and in some cases provide own vehicle for on-the-job transportation purposes.
