Job Summary: This position oversees the Security, Safety, and Parking departments, providing direction, efficiency, and responsiveness to matters of Public Safety, including Security, Safety, Risk Management, and First Aid.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
· Assist and advise the Director of Operations in the creation and implementation of policies and standards affecting the security and safety protocols of City Museum
· Assist the Director of Operations in the oversight of CCTV operations, including maintenance and installation of devices and software
· Develop and sustain a safe, efficient, professional, respectful, and courteous culture within City Museum
· Oversee development of policies, programs, and coordination to enhance the safety and security measures of City Museum
· Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations as defined in the U.S. Code of Federal Regulations
· Track and analyze measures of public safety data to develop and ensure success of programs and initiatives promoting a safer environment
· Develop and promote safety, emergency preparedness, compliance, and educational public safety programs
· Select, train, and supervise staff in the Security, Safety, and Parking departments
· Participate in departmental budgeting and forecasting cycles, monitoring expenses according to budget allocations
· Oversee investigations relating to security and safety incidents; analyze findings to mitigate risk
· Interact with federal, state, and local government agencies as necessary, including maintaining necessary licenses to operate in-house private security
· Coordinate and participate in the Manager on Duty program
· All other duties assigned
Qualifications:
· Applicants must be at least 21 years of age
· Minimum two (2) years Security or Risk Management experience; preferably in a large facility environment
· Valid Private Security Officer license or valid State of Missouri EMT or Paramedic license required
· Ability to obtain City of St. Louis Private Security Officer license if not currently held or valid
· Ability to evaluate processes and procedures, and recommend efficiencies and process improvements
· Outstanding skills in Guest service
· OSHA-10 and/or OSHA-30 certification(s) a plus
· Excellent motivational, leadership, and team-building skills
· Excellent written and oral communication skills
· Advanced computer proficiency, especially in Microsoft Excel
· Must be detail-oriented
· Must be willing to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays
· Must possess a valid Driver’s License
Physical Requirements:
· Must be able to sit, stand or walk for extended periods of time
· Must be able to lift, carry, move, and/or position items weighing up to or in excess of 50 pounds.
· Ability to climb stairs
· Requires manual and bi-manual dexterity, fine and gross motor skills, hand/eye coordination, near vision, hearing and speech
· Work environment: employee will be exposed to various weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, and snow
