Job Summary:

REV Renewables is looking for a Public Affairs Manager to join our dynamic Development team. This role will be responsible for engaging strategically with internal and external stakeholders to create and manage various communication campaigns utilizing traditional and social media platforms.

Job Functions:

  • Play a key role in the Development team by assisting project managers to determine key external stakeholders and provide suggestions to ensure positive engagement throughout the lifecycle of projects.
  • Increase stakeholder engagement by developing and maintaining an active social media presence for Development projects.
  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders to keep media communications consistent with the Development team and corporate messaging.
  • Work with subject matter experts, and conduct independent research, to understand industry trends, industry issues, and key stakeholder audiences.
  • Develop and maintain materials for project messaging, including project fact sheets, Q&A sheets, and project websites.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with external organizations or community affiliates that aligns with company goals for development.
  • Organize, plan, and host public events including but not limited to groundbreakings, ribbon cuttings, and project information meetings.
  • Champion community outreach programs.
  • Travel to local communities and corporate offices.
  • Source and manage public affairs consultants to support projects on an as needed basis.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, Public Policy, Advertising, English, or Marketing or a related field.
  • Prefer 7 to 10 years’ experience in the communication industry- print media, press release, social media (doing research, monitoring communities, researching industry companies, placing targeted ads, project websites).
  • Communication experience in the electric industry strongly preferred.
  • Proven experience engaging with members of communities across a wide range of stakeholders and building grassroot support. Experience working in in rural areas is strongly preferred.
  • Excellent verbal communications skills with the ability to effectively communicate with both local community stakeholders as well as internal senior leadership.
  • Strong written communication skills that showcase creativity and the ability to market ideas.
  • Strong organizational, assessment, and analytical skills.
  • Willingness to work onsite to collaborate daily with the Development team.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a group setting.
  • Natural curiosity that drives for excellence and continual learning, process improvement.
  • Graphic design skills preferred.

This position could work from our St. Louis, MO office or our Houston, TX office.
