The Church Farm School is an independent boarding and day school for boys in grades 9-12 in the Episcopal tradition. Founded in 1918 and located in Exton, PA, Church Farm School prepares a diverse group of boys with academic ability and good character to lead productive and fulfilling lives by making a college preparatory education financially accessible. POSITION DESCRIPTION

The Director of Human Resources will lead all areas of human resources, including performance management, employee relations, recruitment and retention, salary and wage administration, regulatory compliance, workers’ compensation, FMLA and leave management and unemployment administration. This role requires demonstrating critical thinking skills, integrity and good judgment to build partnerships, manage change and facilitate communication among all employees. You will be accountable for establishing metrics and measuring results, conducting research and data analysis. Our ideal candidate is an effective coach and partner who will create a culture of collaboration and high-performance emphasizing employee engagement, innovation and exceptional service.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration or related field.
  • Master’s degree in human resources, business administration or related field – preferred.
  • Minimum of 7 years of progressive Human Resources experience.
  • SHRM or HRCI certification preferred. (PHR/SPHR or SHRM-SCP.)
  • Experience designing, developing and supporting organization-wide talent management programs. that cover performance management, talent development, coaching, succession planning, data analytics and relationship management.
  • Proven track record of effective human resources leadership and the ability to develop, design, implement and measure success of a variety of human resources, talent and retention programs.
  • Strong knowledge of current employment laws and regulations, along with experience in ensuring HR compliance.
  • Exceptional interpersonal, problem solving and communication skills with the ability to influence and engage at all levels of the organization.
  • Day or boarding school experience is preferred.
  • Ability to maintain poise and confidentiality in all situations.
  • Detail oriented, with outstanding interpersonal communication skills.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead and manage various HR functions including, but not limited to recruitment, onboarding, training and development, performance management, employee relations and managing terminations.
  • Provide professional expertise and support in the design, development and implementation of all talent management processes to achieve business goals and school strategy.
  • Conduct full life cycle recruitment in sourcing the best talent, as well as maintaining effective programs for engagement, retention, development, promotion and succession planning.
  • Serve as a business partner with the management team to engage in workforce planning and to develop effective talent sourcing and recruitment strategies. Develop effective relationships within the school and the hiring community to influence and impact the recruiting process and hiring.
  • Monitor and ensure the school’s compliance with federal, state and local employment laws and regulations, and recommend best practices. Review and modify policies and practices to maintain compliance, including, but not limited to FMLA, ADA, Sexual Harassment, OSHA, Worker’s Compensation, Title IX, FLSA and ERISA.
  • Ensure consistent implementation of all applicable personnel policies and procedures including but not limited to, enforcing company policies pertaining to employee conduct harassment, and discrimination prevention, conducting appropriate investigations and assisting and implementing adequate corrective actions to resolve complaints.
  • Drive diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging initiatives across the organization, promoting an environment that values and respects individual differences.
  • Support administrators and school leaders by providing human resources advice, counsel and decisions.
  • Maintain and update the CFS Employee Handbook, Faculty Manual, Residential Life Manual and other employee-related documents.
  • Communicate, interpret and implement human resources policies and government laws and regulations.
  • Conduct research and analysis of organizational trends including review of reports and metrics from the human resource information system (HRIS) or talent management systems and make recommendations relative to findings in alignment with overall HR organizational strategy.
  • Obtain employee feedback regularly on Church Farm School culture, reporting results back to Administrative team. Provide to Administrative team suggested corrective measures based on feedback.
  • Administrator on Duty responsibilities several weekends per year (4-5 weekends, 1-2 weeks during the summer).
  • Other duties as assigned.
