Christopher House has an opening for a Director of Maintenance.

In this department head role, you plan, organize, and direct the overall operation of the maintenance department in accordance with current federal, state and local standards, guidelines, and regulations governing our facility, to assure that our facility is maintained in a safe and comfortable manner.

Education & Experience:

• A high school diploma or its equivalent.
• A minimum of three (3) years of supervisory experience in a Health Care maintenance/plant related position.
• Must be knowlegable of building codes as well as Health Care Life Safety Codes
• Must be knowledgeable of boilers, compressors, generators, etc., as well as various mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems.
• Must have ability to read and interpret blueprints.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Meet the maintenance needs of the facility.
• Recognize hazards to residents or staff safety and take appropriate action to maintain safe environment according to facility policy and procedures.
• Organize and prioritize.
• Replace, repair and purchase items according to facility policy and procedure.
• Plan and implement preventive maintenance program and document accurately.
• Maintain weather protection against cold, heat, fire and other hazards.
• Supervise outside contractors.
• Serve on-call for emergency and off-duty hours.
• Perform errands and tasks as required.
• Maintain upkeep of exterior of building and grounds in all weather conditions.
