Christel House International is Hiring a Database and Development Associate Near Indianapolis, IN

Christel House International (CHI) is a global education network serving more than 6,000 students from under-resourced communities in India, Jamaica, Mexico, South Africa, and the US (Indianapolis). WHAT YOU WILL DO

This role is responsible for specific projects related to administration of Christel House’s fundraising database (Raiser’s Edge, ETapestry, Financial Edge) particularly around data entry, and reporting and production of acknowledgement letters, receipts and mailings. This role also provides administrative support to the Development Team, including donor research and meeting briefs, as well administrative and calendar management support to the Sr. Vice President of Development. This role requires a high degree of autonomy and accuracy in executing these duties.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

Database administration

  • Set up new constituents in Raiser’s Edge and update current records.
  • Reviewing Luminate/Raiser’s Edge plug-in on daily basis for constituents to be processed into Raiser’s Edge.
  • Process acknowledgment letters and tax receipts, including executing mail merge functions.
  • Export customized reports and data requests for Development team.
  • Export and refine mailing lists for appeals and mailings as needed for portfolios (Annual Fund, Major Gifts).
  • Manage monthly reminders to US Development and Global Development teams for monthly reporting.
  • Issue monthly actions reports to the Development Team to monitor donor outreach touchpoints.
  • Run Weekly Fundraising Reporting for Development Team meetings.
  • Conduct routine appeal analysis updates on performance, such as Friends and Family appeals.
  • Issue pledge reminder letters.

Donor research

  • Run Wealth ID screenings on prospective donors for frontline fundraisers.
  • Research information for meeting briefs for Development Team to prepare for high stakes donor meetings.

Team Support

  • Design PowerPoint presentations and graphical one-pagers.
  • Provide administrative support to the team and calendaring support to the SVP, Development.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Two years minimum of database management experience.
  • Proficiency in CRM systems and fundraising software. Knowledge of Raiser’s Edge is a plus.
  • Two years minimum administrative experience in a professional office environment.
  • Strong organizational, project management, and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
  • Genuine passion for the mission of Christel House International and a commitment to positively impacting the lives of underserved children.
