Your Impact:

As a Workforce Development Specialist at CASL, you will be reporting directly to the Adult Employment Program Coordinator, you'll play a pivotal role in securing job opportunities, fostering employer relationships, and delivering comprehensive employment consultation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Forge and maintain partnerships with employers to create new employment opportunities for clients.
  • Offer personalized employment consultation based on clients' short-term objectives and long-term career aspirations.
  • Identify clients' employment goals and match them with suitable job openings, ensuring successful placements.
  • Develop and execute pre-employment/pre-vocational training plans to enhance clients' readiness for the workforce.
  • Utilize data management systems to accurately record client information and track progress.
  • Provide support to clients during job interviews, accompanying them when necessary.
  • Conduct regular employment market studies to anticipate trends and identify new opportunities.
  • Promote program services through outreach efforts, including job fairs and community events.
  • Represent the Adult Employment Program in the absence of management.
  • Facilitate pre-employment workshops and contribute to the development of workshop materials.
  • Collaborate with team members, assist with caseloads, and provide training as needed.
  • Flexibly respond to program and agency needs, completing assigned tasks as required.

Requirements:

To thrive in this role, you should have:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in social services, human services, business, or related fields.
  • Minimum of one year of experience in job development, placement, or employment counseling.
  • Fluent in English and Chinese (Cantonese required, Mandarin preferred).
  • Experience utilizing Microsoft 365

Highly Preferred

  • Possession of a valid Driver's License with reliable transportation
  • Familiarity with Salesforce or similar platforms

Environment and Schedule:

  • Work within standard work hours (8:00 am to 4:00 pm or 9:00 am to 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday) with occasional irregular scheduling based on needs. 
  • Travel within the city required for community engagement and employer outreach.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift and bend, with a minimum lifting capacity of 15 pounds.
  • Visual, hearing, and learning capabilities necessary to perform essential job functions.
  • Willingness to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods.
