Job Description and Responsibilities

Basic Function: Perform and facilitate full cycle recruiting for salary and hourly positions for all Ada locations. This includes sourcing, applicant screening, creating a candidate pipeline, employee orientation, managing intern program, and applicant tracking and associated analysis.

Reports To: Recruitment Manager

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage full cycle recruiting for multiple programs and exempt and non-exempt positions creating sourcing strategies and engagement for each role.
  • Collaborate with hiring managers throughout the recruiting process to ensure hiring needs and goals are met. Adjust recruiting processes for each program according to the structure, culture, and objectives.
  • Build applicant sources by researching and contacting community services, colleges, employment agencies, recruiters, media, and internet sites; providing organization information, opportunities, and benefits; making presentations; and maintaining rapport.
  • Identify and create new tools to increase the flow of qualified candidates for future openings, and develop and maintain a candidate pipeline for recurring open positions.
  • Assist in determining applicant requirements by studying job descriptions and job qualifications.
  • Attract applicants by placing job advertisements, contacting recruiters, and using newsgroups and job sites. Build a seamless interview process that amplifies the candidate experience.
  • Screen applicants to assess qualifications by interviewing and analyzing responses, verifying references, and comparing qualifications to job requirements.
  • Arrange management interviews by coordinating schedules and applicant interviews.
  • Guides offer process to include extending offers, negotiations, closing candidates, and generating offer letters. Recommend new policies and practices to appropriately reflect the current labor market.
  • Manage intern program by conducting orientations; scheduling assignments; monitoring intern job contributions; coaching interns and advising managers.
  • Avoid legal challenges by understanding current legislation, enforcing regulations with managers, recommending new procedures, and conducting training.
  • Update industry and job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, reading professional publications, maintaining personal networks, and participating in professional organizations.
  • Maintain Applicant Tracking System with accuracy and timeliness. Compile reports and trends of analytical data about recruitment needs and turnover.
  • Establish and maintain positive working relationships with staff members of the agency, external agencies, and vendors.
  • Perform other duties as required or assigned which are normally within the scope of duties enumerated above.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business or related field
  • 3 plus years of experience in Human Resources, or an equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge, skills, and abilities have been achieved.
  • Must have 2-4 years of experience recruiting for both exempt and non-exempt staff in a non-profit environment and working with an applicant tracking system.
  • Must possess strong working knowledge of applicable federal and state employment laws, HR practices, and policies. HR certification is a plus.
  • Excellent communication skills, including written and verbal. Comfortable giving presentations to both large and small groups.

Other Skills/Abilities:

  • Must be proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and Social Media applications.
  • Ability to work under the stress of maintaining proper liaison between Program/Department Heads, managers, and employees.
  • Ability to exchange information clearly and concisely and to present ideas, reports facts, and other information.
  • Ability to comprehend the consequences of various situations and use sound judgment for decision-making.
  • Ability to manage own workflow and resolve questions and problems with supervisor.
  • Ability to meet attendance standards and work overtime hours, when required.
  • Ability to maintain the confidentiality of all information.
  • Must possess good organizational skills and be detail-oriented; must exhibit accuracy when working with details.

Mental/Physical Demands:

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. Work requires prolonged concentration using a computer in analyzing and manipulating data. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to sit. The employee is occasionally required to stand and walk. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Environmental Conditions:

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Duties are performed in a typical office environment. No unusual or adverse working conditions exist
