Summary: The Food Production Manager is responsible for supporting the executive chef and collaborating with all foodservice managers in all aspects of foodservice operations and services. The Production Manager will provide the necessary leadership to ensure that the operations group has the proper operations controls, procedures, people and systems in place to effectively execute daily production schedules. The Production Manager ensures staff follows policies and procedures and supports exceptional foodservice operations. Manages daily department performance and ensures orientation and continued education of departmental staff. Develops and improves services to create opportunities for increased sales/revenue/contribution margins. Implements business practices that align with organizational mission, values and standards. Develops relationships to further expand the business thru professional agencies and community involvement. Maintains a master schedule for staffing, call schedule and peak plans. Supports and promotes the vision, mission, and strategic plans of Children's Health. Responsibilities:
Establishes goals and oversees implementation of needs based on customer and business needs
Assist with the day-to-day kitchen operations of the Nutrition Services Department in a cost-effective manner with the overall objectives of operational excellence executing programs, waste/shrinkage
Manages daily operations including menu planning, purchasing, ordering, inventory, and food preparation
Oversees the preparation, portion control, presentation, and safe storage and handling of food
Ensures food service staff have appropriate equipment, products and resources to perform their job functions to meet patient and customer satisfaction goals
Assist the executive chef with hiring, directs, coaching, trains, and developing production team members
Ensures production staff assists in achieving stated customer satisfaction goals
Complies with regulatory standards, including federal, state, and accrediting agencies
Managing the site in the absence of the executive chef
Lead a safe and secure environment focused on incident prevention
Partner closely with distribution centers to ensure that both incoming and outgoing products are well-organized
Train the team on the proper execution of production and food quality initiatives
Evaluates menu selections, customer feedback, forecasts, and inventory process daily
Resolves customer concerns or complaints immediately and/or reports needed assistance to supervisor as appropriate
Communicates any customer service and operations-related problems/concerns to appropriate personnel, in a timely manner following departmental procedures
Develops and posts employee schedules according to the department’s policy
Performs other tasks as may be assigned
WORK EXPERIENCE
At least 1 year of food production and catering management (Preferred)
At least 3 years of Experience in food service (Required)
At least 2 years of Supervisory / leadership experience, preferably in healthcare (Required)
At least 1 year of Food Service Management System (CBORD) experience (Preferred)
EDUCATION
High school diploma or equivalent (Required)
Four-year Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience (Preferred)
LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS
ServSafe® Manager or equivalent certification Upon Hire (Required)
Food Handlers Certification 30 Days (Required)
