Responsibility:

Responsible for managing the daily Environmental Services (EVS) workflow to ensure effective janitorial, custodial, warehousing, and transportation operations.

Purpose:

This position ensures the upkeep, safety, and functionality of all property; enables efficient day-to-day operations; and creates a hospitable environment for organizational activities and community engagement.

Essential Functions:

  • Involved in all department interviews
  • Manage day to day department scheduling for Environmental Services (EVS)
  • Manage department time off requests
  • Conduct 90 day/Quarterly/ Annual Evaluations for all department employees
  • Lead department training and new hire onboarding
  • Make recommendations on staff accountability, up to and including termination
  • Perform, train, & lead others in daily janitorial tasks, groundskeeping, and the organization and restocking of supplies
  • Perform, train, & lead others in all pest control measures
  • Perform, train, & lead others in the transportation of meals, goods, and people
  • Demonstrates the ability to operate, maintain, and train all necessary tools and equipment
  • Demonstrates flexibility with daily work assignments
  • Identifies and utilizes appropriate resources to ensure problems or concerns are followed through and resolved in a timely manner
  • Oversee on-going EVS QA/QC
  • Identify and assist with creating and maintaining all EVS policies and procedures
  • Collaborate with Operations Managers and Volunteer Coordinator to plan and lead on-going volunteer projects
  • Oversee all guests volunteering within the EVS department
  • Oversee all EVS calendars
  • Administrate the EVS work order system
  • Administrate and participate in the EVS on-call system and respond to after-hours emergencies when required
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Education and Experience

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Minimum of 1 year of assistant managerial, managerial, and/or lead experience

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Attentive to detail, with the ability to follow written and verbal instruction and the ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Strong professional demeanor
  • Demonstrates ability to forge effective relationships with staff, guests, and volunteers
  • Must have the ability to remain calm in crisis situations
  • Proven ability to handle a multitude of tasks and prioritize by level of need
  • Ability to take initiative and self-driven to complete goals and tasks
  • Must have high regard for building cleanliness
  • Must have working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite Programs (Outlook, Excel, Word)
  • Must be able to respond to after-hour emergencies and participate in weekly on-call rotation
  • Must be comfortable operating Forklifts, 14 Passenger Mini-Bus, Lawn Equipment, Box Truck, Scissor Lift, etc. (training provided).

Lifting Requirements
