Chef Daniel Boulud Restaurants is Hiring a Marketing Manager Near New York, NY

Chef Daniel Boulud’s The Dinex Group is seeking a dynamic Marketing Manager with a strong digital background to assist the department and build awareness for Daniel Boulud and his restaurants. This role will report to the Corporate Director and partner with operations leaders, chefs, and general managers at each restaurant. This is a key role in the public-facing marketing initiatives of the company.

Founded in 1992, with the opening of Boulud’s Michelin-starred flagship, Restaurant DANIEL, the group has become synonymous with seasonal, ingredient-driven cuisine and the finest standards of hospitality. Based in New York City, Dinex restaurant brands include DANIEL, Le Pavillon, Café Boulud, Le Gratin, Blue Box Café, Centurion NY, Joji, Bar Boulud, Boulud Sud, Maison Boulud, Épicerie Boulud, d|bar, Brasserie Boulud.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

MARKETING/PROJECT MANAGEMENT

  • Collaborate on marketing strategies and guide deliverables creation for the restaurants
  • Brainstorm with the operation teams on restaurant marketing programs, initiatives, and event programming
  • Partner closely with Graphic Designer to provide copy and direction on promotional collateral needed for restaurants
  • Work closely with Social Media Manager to execute communications and marketing campaigns
  • Collaborate with PR team to streamline messaging and support overall department goals

DIGITAL FOCUS

  • Manage the creation/strategy/sending of all email blasts across all properties. This includes: implementing email strategy to ensure email best practices are consistently met for all properties; scheduling out all emails for delivery; monitoring email analytics through an ESP platform; tracking all email by type of campaign, send date/time, subject line/preheader, and call-to-action; reporting email results based on total sends, deliveries, open rates, click-through-rates, opt-outs and reservations
  • Ability to interpret analytics, and communicate and formulate strategy
  • Update and check restaurant websites frequently to ensure they are up to date
  • Upload contacts from different platforms weekly to grow our database
  • Play a crucial role in website design
  • Maintain all company websites and manage updates, including updating content and event calendars, setting up event pages and ticketing sites for all onsite events, and playing a role in re-design of sites/reassessing functionality on a day-to-day basis
  • Update all third-party platforms as needed
  • Track effective email practices, features, and trends

ADDITIONAL DUTIES AS NEEDED

Competencies & Qualifications:

Candidate should be comfortable spending time meeting with Chefs, Sommeliers, and other leadership staff in our restaurants and corporate office. Must be well-versed in multiple digital platforms with basic design capabilities. We are seeking a pro-active thinker who is able to manage deadlines and projects, while wearing many hats within a fast-paced and diverse restaurant group portfolio. 

  • At least 2-3 years of work experience in digital marketing required, preferably in restaurants, food/beverage, retail, liquor/spirits, or luxury. Experience in hospitality is a plus, but not required
  • Bachelor’s Degree in marketing, business, communications, or a related field
  • Knowledge in email marketing and experience using a CRM
  • Hardworking, organized self-starter with strong attention to detail
  • Ability to interpret analytics and determine proper KPIs for ROI and business growth
  • Demonstrated interest in the food and hospitality industry
  • Strong writer
  • Detail oriented, with an excellent eye for spelling, grammar and AP style
  • Professional and pleasant demeanor with a “go-getter” attitude
  • Strong cross-functional leadership skills and desire to communicate and work with others
  • Previous office and administrative experience
  • Working knowledge of all basic computer programs (Microsoft Office Suite, Outlook, etc.)
  • Adobe Creative Suite experience required
