Center for Mental Health is Hiring a Human Resources Director Near Great Falls, MT

Full-Time / Exempt 

Great Falls

Position Overview: The Human Resources Director will plan, lead, direct, develop, and coordinate the policies, activities, and employees of the Human Resource (HR) department, ensuring legal compliance and implementation of the organization’s mission and talent strategy. Position on-site in Great Falls.

Job Duties:

  1. A member of the Senior Leadership Team to assist with the organization’s goals and strategy related to staffing, recruiting, retention, training, and culture.
  2. Oversees the talent acquisition process to includes building a recruitment strategy for sourcing, interviewing, and hiring and onboarding processes of all employees, contracted professionals, and other hires as needed. Identifies staffing and recruiting needs; develops and executes best practices for hiring and talent management.
  3. Develops and implements policies, processes, training, initiatives, and surveys to support the organization’s human resource compliance and strategy needs.
  4. Negotiates, administers, and oversees the administration of human resource programs including, but not limited to, compensation, policies and procedures, benefits, and leaves; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; grievances, performance and talent management, worker’s compensation, and training and development.
  5. Oversees payroll for 200 employees.
  6. Knowledgeable of federal and state laws/regulations. including but not limited to FMLA, ADA, FLSA, and OSHA.
  7. Monitors and ensures the organization’s compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews and modifies policies and practices to maintain compliance.
  8. Mitigates risk that could result in hefty fines, legal ramifications, and reputation damage.
  9. Maintains knowledge of best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law; applies this knowledge to communicate changes in policy, practice, and resources to the Senior Leadership Team.
  10. Develops and implements departmental budget.

  9. Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws, and regulations.
  10. Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software, Teams, and Excel.
  11. Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the organization’s HRIS.
  12. ADP previous experience preferred.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  1. Recruits, interviews, hires, and trains new employees in the department. 
  2. Oversees the daily workflow of the HR and Payroll. 
  3. Provides constructive and timely performance evaluations.
  4. Handles discipline and termination of employees in accordance with company policy.
  5. Supervises Human Resources employees. 

Minimum Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field is required.
  • Master’s degree in Human Resources, MBA, or Business Administration, or related field is preferred.
  • At least three to five years of Human Resources experience required, healthcare preferred.
  • Supervisory and payroll experience preferred.
  • SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP preferred or must obtain within one year of employment.
  • A combination of education and experience equivalent to at least eight years may be considered.

Sign on bonus $4,000

Salary $65,000 DOE
