Myers and Stauffer LC is a certified public accounting and health care reimbursement consulting firm, specializing in audit, accounting, data management and consulting services to government-sponsored health care programs (primarily state Medicaid agencies, and the federal Center for Medicare & Medicaid Services). The Marketing Specialist/Proposal Writer will assist with business development efforts targeted at state and federal government health care agencies. This position will focus on coordinating the development and production of winning proposals. The role requires excellent project management skills, time management skills, and the ability to coordinate input from multiple professionals in pursuit of government contracts. It also requires the ability to synthesize information from multiple sources into cohesive narrative.

Essential Functions:

  • Serve in a project management role for the firm's internal proposal development process.
  • Coordinate the development of proposals from start to finish, including:
  • Facilitate in-person and virtual meetings with engagement teams.
  • Coordinate the development of proposals to include firm boilerplate information, technical writing from subject matter experts and leadership, utilization of callouts and graphics, ensuring all
  • RFP requirements have been met, and content flows in a concise, easy to read, and understandable manner.
  • Work with other proposal staff to gather and develop resumes, project profiles, organizational charts, and forms.
  • Run queries from Deltek (a CRM database) as needed.
  • Assist with hardcopy proposal production.
  • Proofread proposals in accordance with AP Style and internal style guide.
  • Manage multiple assigned tasks/projects with minimal supervision.
  • Update boilerplate materials for proposals.
  • Assist with maintenance of the Proposal Resource Center, a SharePoint site.
  • Communicate with all levels of associates from executive management to staff.
  • Additional responsibilities as assigned.

Requirements:

  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, English, Journalism, Business, Liberal Arts, or related major preferred.
  • 3 years of related work experience preferably in state/federal government proposal writing, grant writing or other business/technical writing role required.
  • Strong project management, editing/writing, proofreading, and communication skills required.
  • Strong understanding of AP Style grammar rules.
  • Ability to communicate and collaborate with all levels of management and various stakeholders (team members, partners, clients) to achieve results.
  • Proficient use of applicable technology, such as Microsoft Office applications and Adobe Acrobat.
  • Strong organization skills with excellent follow through is a must.
  • Ability to manage projects simultaneously within established deadlines.
  • Ability to adapt to changing deadlines, requirements, and quick turnaround times.
  • Must be able to work both independently and as part of a larger team.
  • Self-motivated and assertive.
  • Possess exceptional attention to detail.

The Team: Myers and Stauffer takes pride in the welcoming and collaborative culture we have throughout our offices. For this position, the employee will report to one of our Managers on the Marketing Proposal team.

Work Style:Our general business hours are Monday through Friday 8am-5pm, but can vary based on business needs. Dependent on performance, our in-office associates are eligible for a hybrid work schedule after their initial 90-day training period. As a company, we are always willing to discuss potential flexibility that an employee may need to better suit their work-life wellbeing.
