About the Program and Position:
The Enhanced Family Foster Care (EFFC) Program supports foster youth in the custody of the Administration for Children’s Services (ACS) in New York City. Our EFFC program serves 100 youth ages 0-21 and supports them with a multidisciplinary team that includes a Case Planner, Health Services Team, Psychiatrist, Behavioral Support Specialist, Family Advocate, Case Aide, Family Team Conferencing Coordinator, Education Workforce Specialist, Employment/Internship and Housing Specialist, Fair Futures Coach, Foster Home Recruiter and Licensor and Clinician. Our therapeutic approach to foster care includes direct access to Clinicians and foster parents who are trained at a treatment foster care level implementing the ARC framework. This makes a difference because our team approach provides a space for healing while providing skill-building and future-focused planning for youth in our care.
Cayuga Centers currently seeks a Director of Clinical Services to provide management of behavioral health services provided to the youth in foster care as mandated by the Office of Children and Family Services (OCFS) and ACS. This includes a trauma informed, socioecological approach in collaboration with multidisciplinary team members.
How you get to use your skills:
- Oversee initial Mental Health Assessments, treatment planning and delivery completed by the Core Clinicians in the EFFC program.
- Review and approve all biopsychosocial and treatment plans
- Provide supervision to the Assistant Directors of Core Clinical and Behavioral Support Services ensuring that EFFC and Office of Children and Family Services’ mandates are followed and that youth are receiving quality clinical and behavioral support services.
- Collaborate with A29i medical and mental health team (including psychiatry) to manage psychiatric crisis and support clinical and behavior support specialist staff.
- Responsible for continuous improvement of program components including but not limited to policy and procedures, staff training, and maximizing productivity
- Ensure timely critical incident & psychiatric hospitalization notifications to ACS stakeholders
- Provide guidance & coaching to staff to assist with mental health emergencies
- Participate in weekly leadership meetings and monthly departmental/ stakeholder meetings
- Attend Family Team Conferences & Treatment Team meetings promoting a dynamic, strength-based interdisciplinary team model
- Maintain a collaborative relationship with stakeholders, referral sources, and community resources and providers
- Support and collaborate with foster parents and birth parents
- Ensure patient-centered and culturally sensitive practice
- Work well with people from many cultures including recent immigrants, non-English speakers, and LGBTQ children
- Performs other duties as assigned
Schedule: Exempt
- Regular hours entail 9:00 am-5:00 pm, Monday - Friday
- Evenings and weekends may be required
- Must be able to flex schedule to meet program needs
- On call required
