Job description

POSITION RANGE $21.50-$24.64 NON-EXEMPT HOURLY POSITION

POSITION SUMMARY

The Human Resource Representative handles and provides support for various HR employee programs within the organization. Serves as administrator backup for several critical human resources functions and workforce management, including recruiting, employee/labor relations, health and safety, compensation, benefits, training, diversity, employee engagement, leave and attendance tracking, payroll, and employee records. Facilitates and communicates organizational policies and programs and ensures labor law and regulatory compliance. Incumbent is responsible for the training and development program in place. As the HR Representative, he/she will create, develop, implement, and conduct training and development programs for employees under the direct guidance and supervision of the HR Director.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Assists the HR Director by assessing training and development needs through surveys, interviews, focus groups, and communication with managers and instructors.

· Creates, organizes, plans, and presents various forms of onboarding, orientation, and skills training for employees.

· Assists the HR Director in developing unique training programs to fulfill workers’ specific needs to maintain or improve job skills.

· Creates and/or acquires training procedure manuals, guides, and course materials.

· Presents training and development programs using various forms and formats including group discussion, lecture, simulations, and videos.

· Maintains records of training and development activities, attendance, results of tests and assessments, and retraining requirements.

· Assesses training materials prepared by instructors.

· Evaluates program effectiveness through assessments, surveys, and feedback.

· Maintains knowledge of the latest trends in training and development.

· Prepares and implements training budget; maintains records and reports of expenses.

· Performs other related duties as required.

  • Prepares and maintains employee training files.
  • Runs reports from employee database as requested.
  • Files papers and documents into appropriate employee files; performs paper and system audits as necessary.
  • Enters and updates data into HRIS system ensuring the accuracy of information.
  • Assists in preparation of paperwork for new-hire orientations.
  • Assist in processing new-hire, status change and termination paperwork.
  • Assists in the distribution of HR related information such as benefits enrollment, compensation, recruiting, and health and safety materials.
  • Assists in the preparation of paperwork for all types of leave, such as disability, medical, personal, and FMLA.
  • Assists with the open enrollment process.
  • Provides necessary reports and check requests for billing charges.
  • Processes Human Resources action forms and ensures proper approvals; disseminates approved forms.
  • Assists conducting background checks, drug testing and driver’s license and Dept. of Transportation (DOT) certification to ensure Company’s compliance of DOT regulations
  • Assists in hiring process by coordinating job posting on the website, reviewing resumes, and performing telephone interviews and reference checks.
  • Serves as back up to the receptionist by ensuring coverage of switchboard in the receptionist’s absence.
  • Serve as a back up for HR Coordinator and HR Assistant when needed.
  • Performs additional duties as needed

EQUIPMENT OPERATION:

Computer, calculator, fax machine, telephone, copier.

MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS:

· Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Training and Development, or a related field is required.

· At least two years of training experience required and 3 years’ experience in Human Resources OR a combination of education and experience. Experience may be substituted for the required education. Prefer experience using an HR Information System software. Require demonstrated experience with MS Office products, particularly Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook.

· Bi-lingual English & Spanish

· Previous Experience with ADP Workforce Now overall platform and training & development feature is preferred

· Previous Experience with Paylocity, ADP Workforce Now is a plus

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $21.50 - $24.65 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
