Career Opportunities at Linwood Center is Hiring a Human Resources Generalist Near Ellicott, MD

  • Administers company-wide benefit plans to include health, dental, vision, 401 K, life, short and long-term disability through the enrollment/termination and billing reconciliation.
  • Coordinates the benefit enrollment process at the time of hire and other eligibility points, including annual open enrollment and life events.
  • Respond to all employee requests and questions regarding benefit plans, coverage, and policies.
  • Manages leave administration to include but not limited to FMLA, personal leave, disability, and ADA accommodations. Keeps accurate and up-to-date employee records and reporting documentation around leave administration.
  • Work closely with benefit carriers and brokers to troubleshoot problems and find resolutions.
  • Coordinates the transfer of data to external contacts for services, and premiums. Reviews, audits, and reconciles benefits enrollment information each month with each carrier and correct enrollment data as needed.
  • Prepare monthly vendor invoices, verify the accuracy of billing, proactively resolve billing discrepancies, and function as a liaison between vendor and accounts payable.
  • Responsible for the Employee Recognition Program and Employee Engagement activities in conjunction with the HR Manager
  • Conducts new employee benefit orientation and maintains the supply of the orientation materials.
  • Responsible for the accuracy of trackers, employee status reports, and compliance reporting for MSDE, EEO, ACA, and any other regulatory component.
  • Implements compliance with State and Federal laws including ERIA, COBRA, HIPAA, DOL, and other applicable regulations.
  • Collaborate with HR management to continually improve the HR department processes and functions for the continued efficiency of the department.
  • May assist with recruiting the hiring of qualified job applicants for open positions. collaborates with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings.
  • May assist with ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements such as conducting criminal background investigations, drug screening, MSDE credentialing, reference checks, and verification education.
  • Assists employees and supervisors with basic interpretation of HR policies and procedures.
  • May participate in grievance investigations and employee relations matters.
