Capstone Real Estate Services, Inc. has a fantastic opportunity in our corporate offices in Austin, TX. We’re searching for an experienced VP of Accounting to join our Accounting team of professionals to both maintain our current success levels and expand that success as well. We are looking to hire immediately!

The VP of Accounting is responsible for managing the accounting department, day to day operations, and ongoing impact that benefits the company. Qualified candidates are required to possess RealPage accounting experience and must be a CPA. As a valued member of our senior management, the selected candidate must be comfortable in a leadership role that demands clear communication and leadership skills.

Duties

• Establishing corporate service standards and financial objectives.
• Establishing corporate policies and allocating resources.
• Coordinate with other Executive team members.
• Ensure adequate exchange of Divisional information to satisfactorily accomplish corporate goals and objectives.
• Identify department operating problems and establish plans for solution.
• Act as primary Division contact with company employees, clients, auditors, etc.
• Respond to special client accounting problems or requirements.
• Comply with federal, state, and local financial requirements by studying existing and new legislation, enforcing compliance
• Lead the development and use of best-practice policies, practices, and tools that ensure a well-controlled yet flexible organization with strong fiscal management, project management, cross team communications and workflow
• Manage and successfully lead the Property Accounting team to achieve Capstone client service objectives.

• Oversee Finance, HR and Payroll personnel, functions, and internal staff
• Monitor and track performance and administer corrective action as needed
• Responsible for all cash management, investments, insurance, budgeting, and financial reporting, helping to drive the company’s financial strategy and hiring needs
• Develop, implement and monitor property accounting fiscal control systems and standard operating policies and procedures.
• Ensure the integrity of all property accounting data.
• Ensure the accurate and trimely processing of both new property set-up and lost property close-out.

Required Skills and Experience

• Strong RealPage accounting experience preferred
• CPA with at least a bachelor’s degree in accounting, business accounting, or finance
• 5 years’ experience in executive leadership positions
• Leadership skills, with steadfast resolve and personal integrity
• Highly effective communication, organizational, planning, and analytical skills.
• Research revenue opportunities and economic trends, analyze internal operations, identify areas of cost reduction and process enhancement
• Proficient in developing, leading and evaluating talent
