Canva is Hiring a Content Partnerships Manager Near Austin, TX

Job Description

Join the team redefining how the world experiences design.

Hello, hey, g'day, mabuhay, kia ora, 你好, hallo, vítejte!

Thanks for stopping by. We know job hunting can be a little time consuming and you're probably keen to find out what's on offer, so we'll get straight to the point.

Where and how you can work

Our flagship office is in Sydney, Australia, but we've made our way from down under, to a campus in Austin, Texas which is now home to our US operations.

What you’d be doing in this role

As Canva scales change continues to be part of our DNA. But we like to think that's all part of the fun. So this will give you the flavor of the type of things you'll be working on when you start, but this will likely evolve.

At the moment, this role is focused on:

  • Drive Partner Growth: You will help to create & drive the strategic direction of the branded content / premium content space, and other key content partnership areas. The Content Partnership Manager will be responsible for proactive sourcing and recruitment of target Canva partner prospects, leading discussions to evangelize the benefits of partnering with Canva and building their own presence on our platform as a part of their overall business strategy.
  • Be a strategic thinker: You’ll use your business development skills to identify our biggest growth opportunities and work with partners to translate recommendations into execution. You’ll use strategic recommendations to shape the future of the content experience on Canva and answer complex and ambiguous questions with the help of team leadership and supporting departments such as data and analytics.
  • Own the ongoing success of Canva partnership relationships: Once integrated into Canva's partnership network, the Content Partnership Manager will be responsible for maintaining the ongoing success of the relationships and exploring new opportunities for deeper collaboration between Canva and its partners. For instance, aligning with your partners' marketing strategies to enhance awareness, usage, and adoption for both parties. The Partnership Manager will serve as the main contact for partner inquiries, information requests, and continuous communication between Canva and its partners. You will champion high retention rates and oversee renewals and negotiations to ensure compliance and achieve favorable commercial outcomes for Canva.
  • Be a cross-functional hero: Content Partnership Managers must build strong relationships and work across the entire Canva organization to achieve their mission. The successful candidate will communicate directly with the Canva Content Group, keep updated on product and platform releases, ensure compliance of partners alongside our Legal team, and liaise closely on partner inquiries with our Customer Happiness Team (just to name a few internal stakeholders!).

You're probably a match if

  • Relationship builder and strong communicator: First and foremost, you thrive in being in front of partners, internal colleagues, and external stakeholders at all levels all the way to company founders, actively building strong relationships with them, ensuring they are successful with Canva. You’ve built this experience with 4 years in a client-facing role, such as partnerships, account management, production, or agency. The ideal candidate would have experience in content partnerships and a strong existing network of licensers.
  • Product evangelist, with an aptitude for design: You’re a champion of Canva’s platform technology internally and externally, sharing partner feedback with our content group, and passing on ideas for improving the product experience with relevant teams across all of Canva. Your passion for all things design means you’re aware of major consumer internet trends, and proactively keep yourself updated on how popular culture works and shapes society’s visual language. You are aware of what is technically feasible when committing to partners, understand what is technically impractical, whiteboard ideas to paint a picture of what is possible, and can quickly identify red flags in licensing negotiations.
  • End-to-end deal executor: You have expertise in developing a clear compelling story & strategic recommendation- leveraging data, market research, and independent analysis. You’re comfortable not only pitching a solution, but also handling partner objections, and managing decision processes to get a partnership across the line. You have experience creating commercial structures for bespoke content deals and a proven track record of driving ROI through partnership activity. You’re able to self-manage deadlines to ensure projects are delivered on time, and key milestones are met.
  • Ownership mentality: You act like an owner of your portfolio of partners, and seek solutions to problems without being asked to do so. Then work collaboratively with others to drive successful outcomes. You have proven ability to lead initiatives from inception to launch and beyond, via self-learning and with minimal oversight. Your colleagues have faith in you to get the job done.
  • Strategic thinker with strong analytical ability: Instead of jumping on the first opportunity that is presented, you’re able to craft a clear go-to-market strategy that identifies the top growth opportunities for Canva as a whole to achieve its North Star user growth and revenue metrics. You’re comfortable with research and data, and use it to inform your approach and validate your position

We work collaboratively across the Content & Discovery group to identify & implement opportunities to drive user engagement through content. This role is pivotal in expanding Canva's content ecosystem and collaborating with some of the most recognizable and beloved brands worldwide. Your responsibilities will encompass the entire project lifecycle from strategizing to execution. You'll be responsible for identifying, engaging, and negotiating with content suppliers, ensuring that Canva's internal systems, processes, and support teams are fully aligned to leverage the new content opportunities effectively.

At Canva, we're redefining how people engage with their favorite brands. • Inclusive parental leave policy that supports all parents & carers
  • An annual Vibe & Thrive allowance to support your wellbeing, social connection, office setup & more
