Director of Clinical Operations
at Canopy Mental Health & Consulting (MHC) and Canopy Roots
As our Director of Clinical Operations, this position will play a key role in overseeing all clinical service departments at Canopy Roots and Canopy Mental Health & Consulting to ensure quality clinical service and departmental adherence to Canopy’s values. The person in this role is responsible for supervising and supporting all clinical department Managers, and ensuring compliance with federal laws, state statutes and insurance contract requirements. This Director, along with their department Managers, is responsible for setting a tone of high quality customer service, excellent communication, and responsiveness to staff in all departments they oversee. This role is supervised by the Executive Director, and supervises the Clinical Managers I and II at Canopy MHC and the Behavioral Response Crisis (BCR) Program Manager at the Canopy Roots. This role is anticipated to supervise the Managers of future clinical departments to be established at Canopy, including outpatient co-occurring treatment, and other medical/mental health services.
Job Details
Start Date: As soon as possible
Location: This role includes high flexibility in work location and work hours, both of which are determined by the employee, based on what is necessary for optimal completion of work duties. When working in-office, this employee will be based out of either the Richfield or Northeast Minneapolis Canopy locations.
Starting Salary: $140,000 dependent on your skills and demonstrated readiness for the role.
Job Type: Full Time, Exempt
Hours/Day: Monday-Friday, 40 hours a week – including evenings, and weekends when necessary. (Most work falls roughly between the hours of 9am-5pm)
Essential Job Functions
  • Conducting regular supervision meetings with all Manager supervisees
  • Providing clinical license supervision to Canopy MHC and Canopy Roots staff
  • Conducting regularly scheduled reviews and updates of policy
  • Coordinating with legal resources to understand and ensure compliance with laws, statutes and insurance companies’ contractual requirements
  • Representing Canopy MHC and Roots in community engagement or public events related to the role
  • Collaborating with Strategic Partnerships and Contract Operations Manager regarding existing clinical departmental resources for new community partnerships/contracts
  • Collaborating with Organizational Development department to obtain staff feedback and implement appropriate responses or change initiatives based on data collected
  • Collaborating with Finance department on needs related to revenue cycle and departmental budgets and collaborate to address finance related issue in each department
  • Collaborate with Strategic Partnerships and Contract Operations Manager to provide clinical perspective in the process of designing programs and providing contracted services
  • Implement structured interventions for organizational issues that arise within the departments overseen
  • Develop procedures to build and maintain cultural responsiveness in service provision and workplace culture
  • Collaborates with Organizational Development and HR to reduce bias in hiring, and overseeing the recruitment and hiring of a diverse workforce (diversity in all forms, including in race, gender, sexuality, disability status)
  • Other duties as assigned by the the Executive Director

Requirements
  • Full, independent clinical licensure in the state of Minnesota (LPCC, LICSW, LMFT, LP, APRN, Licensed Physician, MD or DO)
  • Passionate and experienced in providing culturally responsive mental health care
  • 5 or more years of experience providing clinical supervision
  • 5 or more years of administrative leadership experience
  • Experience successfully launching new clinical service programs
Preferred Qualifications
  • Hold existing connections within the local mental health and/or public safety community
Physical Requirements
This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, copy machines and filing cabinets. This role must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time.
