Department Overview Our care traffic control center (CTCC) is at the heart of the Children’s Minnesota organization overseeing the operations of each hospital dispersed between three campuses. Our staff includes dedicated hospital nursing supervisors and staffing office personnel who work closely together as we continuously monitor each hospital’s unit activity and staffing needs while maintaining the organizational core value of putting “kids first.” The CTCC department provides a distinctive opportunity for team members to lead through collaboration with each unit in prioritizing patient flow, triaging operational issues or clinical staffing areas of concern, and organizing overall daily staffing resources within one of the largest pediatric health systems in the United States. Position Summary The Director of Clinical Resources is accountable for providing clinical and operational leadership support for the nursing float teams, vascular access program and the staffing & scheduling teams. This position is responsible for using evidenced-based processes to effectively distribute human and data resources in a way that supports operational and financial stability for Children's Minnesota. Utilizes continuous improvement methodologies to develop plans, metrics and timelines. Implements evidence-best practices to ensure delivery of quality patient care. As the Director of Clinical Resources; this position will be responsible for the development and implementation of system-wide staffing, scheduling and labor resource management initiatives in support of optimum quality, safety and financial outcomes while considering the varied needs of our employees and the organization. Develops system wide tools, dashboards and benchmarks to monitor and support operational efficiencies and productivity while adhering to labor contracts. The Director of Clinical Resources will report to the Senior Director, Clinical Operations.

Qualifications:

License/Certification/Registration: *Active RN license in the State of Minnesota required. Education: *Bachelor's degree in nursing required. *Master's degree in healthcare related field (preferably nursing) preferred. Experience: *10 years of progressively more healthcare, clinic, and/or hospital leadership experience. *Strong knowledge and demonstrated ability in hospital resource management, patient flow, and staffing. *Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. *Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with a strong ability to influence without authority. *Proven ability to develop people through coaching and mentoring. *Desired characteristics: strategic thinker, facilitator, financial acumen, collaborator, data-based decision maker. Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: *Knowledge of how to incorporate evidence-based practices and resources for benchmarking processes and outcomes. *Demonstrated leadership and communication (written and verbal) competence. *Demonstrated customer service and family centered orientation. *Knowledge, methods and skills needed to effectuate change, to understand and value the perspectives and responsibilities of others, and the capacity to mentor others. *Demonstrates knowledge of Joint Commission, CM, MDH, and Magnet standards. *Effective project management and proficiency in continuous improvement methodologies. The posted pay range represents rates for a grouping of multiple jobs within a salary grade. We carefully consider a wide range of factors including but not limited to market indicators for the specific role, the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate, and organizational needs. Base pay is just one piece of the total rewards program offered by Children’s Minnesota. All job offers are contingent upon successful completion of an occupational health assessment, drug screen, background investigation, and compliance with the U.S. Government Form I-9, Employment Eligibility Verification.
