We take our work and our communities, but not ourselves, seriously.Business Development AssociateExempt/Full-time/Remote or Hybrid is an optionPosition Description:The Business Development Associate role is responsible for building Campus Advantage’s third-party management portfolio by supporting the Vice President of Business Development and Director of Consulting through internal research and assessment, identifying third party management opportunities, cold calling, and helping develop proposal and pitch presentations. Campus Advantage is seeking an energetic, results oriented, self-starter who is passionate about sales, and possesses prior knowledge of the student housing or multi-family sector. The Business Development Associate will be responsible for building sales opportunities for the organization by identifying and developing contacts for potential new business. The ideal candidate will have one- to two-years of experience selling for a student housing or multi-family company, be experienced in building a pipeline through cold-calling and online research, capable of researching and completing data analysis, and possess a proven record of accomplishment of success demonstrating a closing percentage of 40-50% of presentations delivered. The Business Development Associate will be responsible for the following key initiatives:· Develop a prospecting list from databases provided, online research, and cold-calling efforts· Place 30-50 consistent calls per day to generate weekly discovery meetings· Build a working pipeline of new opportunities for the organization· Collaborate with the Vice President of Business Development to deliver weekly activities and achieve goals for meetings, proposals, and closures· Present Campus Advantage services with knowledge, clarity, and confidence· Develop and review management proposals, proformas, budgets, market analysis, and feasibility studies for potential clients· Complete key documentation as outlined in training for proper client hand-off Responsibilities:· Identify and create relationships with existing and prospective clients · Create and maintain updated database of current and potential clients· Subscribe to key industry publications and media alerts· Research industry and nationwide trends and make assumptions based on findings· Interpret and input data into sales platforms· Create accurate templates, proformas, proposals, forecasts, studies, and reports with current and historical data· Write executive summaries, market narratives, and published content· Collaborate with marketing agency regarding business development and consulting · Assist in creating new initiatives, deliverables, and services with the consulting department· Manage information flow and required documentation of transition and disposition assets· Maintain full knowledge of Campus Advantage and Catalyst brands · Attend weekly, monthly, quarterly meetings· Execute timely contractual deliverables· Public speaking engagements· Travel as requested and required· Other duties as assigned QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS Qualifications: · BA/BS in business, finance real estate, or related field Experience:· 1-3 years of experience in a sales role· Proven record of accomplishment of revenue growth and call activity leading to sales· Proven sales closure rate of over 40% of proposals pitched· Experience in student housing, multi-housing, or real estate preferred Skills: The Business Development Associate candidate should demonstrate competence in all the following:· Communicate Effectively: Speak, listen, and write in a clear, thorough, and timely manner using appropriate and effective communication tools and techniques.· Creativity/Innovation: Develop new and unique ways to improve business development and consulting deliverables.· Foster Teamwork: Work cooperatively and effectively with others to set goals, resolve problems, and make decisions that enhance organizational effectiveness.· Lead: Push projects and initiatives through the organization.· Make Decisions: Assess situations to determine the importance, urgency, and risks, and make clear decisions which are timely and in the best interests of the organization.· Organize: Set priorities, develop a work schedule, monitor progress towards goals, and track details/data/information/activities.· Plan: Determine strategies to move the organization forward, set goals, create, and implement action plans, and evaluate the process and results.· Solve Problems: Assess problem situations to identify causes, gather and process relevant information, generate viable solutions, and make recommendations and/or resolve the problem.Our CompanyCampus Advantage is a student housing management company that specializes in fostering financially prosperous communities through its property management, investments, and consulting services.
