California Governor’s Office of Emergency Services is Hiring a STAFF SERVICES MANAGER I Near Sacramento, CA

Job Summary:
Under the general direction of the Employee Wellness, Pay & Benefit Services Division Chief, Staff Services Manager II, the Staff Services Manager I (SSM I) plans, organizes, and directs the human resources activities related to transactions, as well as the activities related to medical industrial and nonindustrial leaves. The SSM I supervise staff performing Human Resources Transactions, including but not limited to, payroll processes, benefits administration, appointments, and appointment changes. The incumbent is expected to provide a high level of guidance and exceptional customer services on complex human resource related issues, and demonstrate the highest degree of skill, knowledge, and poise. Will serve as the department’s subject matter expert in interpreting and applying laws, rules, policies, and procedures as they relate to payroll, personnel, leave, benefit transactions and medical leaves.

Working Conditions

Telework: This position is eligible for a hybrid work schedule which includes up to two days of remote work per week. Additional in office days may be required based on the business need.
