CALIFORNIA ENERGY COMMISSION is Hiring a STAFF SERVICES MANAGER I Near Sacramento, CA

The California Energy Commission (CEC) Office of the Public Advisor, Energy Equity, and Tribal Affairs (PAO ) advises and supports CEC staff and leadership, stakeholders, California Native American Tribes, and interested members of the public in meaningful engagement and participation in CEC programs, policies, and practices.

Under the general direction of the Public Advisor, the highly skilled Labor and Workforce Development Advisor will work both independently and in a team environment to perform varied and complex duties related to labor and workforce development considerations in clean energy planning, policies, and programs. The incumbent will serve as CEC’s key workforce development liaison with internal and external stakeholders. The incumbent will work to raise awareness of labor and workforce policies and programs and coordinate CEC’s efforts with local, state, and federal governmental entities and organizations.

The incumbent will have the highest degree of responsibility related to implementing, managing, coordinating across divisions, monitoring program progress and success. The incumbent will collaborate closely with CEC commissioners, executive leadership, and representatives from peer agencies. The incumbent will advance work that requires a high degree of skill in project management, team leadership, communication, collaboration, problem solving, and program evaluation.

Working Conditions

The CEC supports a hybrid workplace model with office-based and remote-centered workers. Limited in-person attendance and occasional travel may be required based on the needs of the division. Regular and consistent attendance is essential to successful performance. This position is remote-centered, which means the incumbent works 50 percent or more of their time from an alternate work location.

The California Energy Commission seeks an SSM I (Specialist) in the Office of the Public Advisor.
