Cafe Amelie is a local and visitor driven established French Quarter restaurant looking for a host to join our team. We are inclusive and mindful of work / life balance. New Orleans Hospitality is at the core of everything we aspire to share with our guests along with our Modern Southern Louisiana cuisine and stellar cocktail & wine bar.

- You have previous experience as a host in a restaurant

- Have used the reservation program Resy (or other) and can juggle tables and waitlists and servers accordingly

- You're a happy person who enjoys being a part of the hospitality industry

- You enjoy contributing to the restaurant Family

- You are available to work Thursday through Sunday.

The Host responsibilities include:

• Greeting guests as they enter, and placing them on a waiting list as necessary with realistic timelines.
• Providing guests with menus and answering any initial questions.
• Politely seating guests at tables or in waiting areas.
• Assigning guests to tables they prefer, while keeping table rotation in mind so that servers receive the right number of customers.
• Engaging with guests to ensure they're happy with food and service.
• Responding to complaints and helping to resolve them.
• Answering phone calls, taking reservations and answering questions.
• A knowledge of the menu.
• Helping out with other positions in the restaurant as needed.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Ability to provide top-notch customer service in a fast-paced environment.
• A positive attitude and ability to work well under pressure with all restaurant team.
• Does high-quality work while unsupervised.
• Able to work in a standing position for long periods of time.
• Able to safely lift and easily maneuver trays of food when necessary.
• Willing to follow instructions and ask questions for clarification if needed.
• Able to work in a busy restaurant environment.
• Fold napkins & perform light cleaning maintenance in restaurant pre, during, and post shift.
• Help buss, wipe down, and reset tables.

Job Type: Part-time

Salary: $12.00 - $16.00 per hour

Education:

• High school or equivalent (Required)

Experience:

• Serving/Hosting: 2 years (Required)
• Restaurant Experience: 2 years (Required)
