Your Role: Direct Sales Engineer

As a Direct Sales Engineer, you are a foundational part of our success. You will carry our Bystronic brand to customers and will be responsible to perform the sales activities in a defined geographic area or market segment (the assigned “territory”). Your role will include prospecting new customers and generating new business opportunities to support the sales targets of your region. 

Your Responsibilities:

• Assist in developing long and short-range sales strategies, forecasts, budgets and goals for the assigned territory in conjunction with the Regional Sales Manager.
• Extensive customer/potential customer contact via telephone, written communications and personal visits requiring travel to customer sites via automobile (personal/rental) or air travel.
• Conduct demonstrations for machinery at existing client locations, coordination of demonstrations in conjunction with Applications Manager for demos at Technical Center locations.
• Prepare and print budget quotations and prepare detailed quotations for potential clients.
• Expand customer base and develop new leads.
• Plan and carry out field travel efficiently for geographically grouped customer/prospect visits.
• Prepare visit reports for Regional Sales Manager
• Participate in study tours, open houses, industry trade shows and related association functions.
• Collect and share competitive information.
• Communicate with Installation and Customer Service Department to ensure continuity from point of sale to customer satisfaction.
• Supply forecast, win/loss, and other month-end reports to Regional Sales Manager.
• Assist Regional Sales Manager with advertising promotions.
• Maintain customer database for assigned sales territory.
