About Busy Bee Organics:

Busy Bee Organics offers healthy and convenient meal solutions for busy Jersey City residents. We focus on organic, gluten-free, and plant forward (not 100% vegan) meals that can be customized to meet a variety of dietary needs. Our company provides weekly meal prep and delivery services for our customers, as well as a cafe in Jersey City Heights, open seven days per week. Our Head Chef will oversee all areas of operations. We will be celebrating 10 years in business and have won best health food spot, best vegetarian and best gluten free business for 5 years and would love someone to continue to add to our accolades!

About the Role:

As our Head Chef, you will play a vital role in leading our kitchen team and shaping the culinary identity of Busy Bee Organics.

You will be responsible for:

  • Creating innovative and delicious menus that showcase seasonal, organic ingredients.
  • Ensuring the highest standards of quality control and food safety in the kitchen.
  • Leading and mentoring a team of cooks, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.
  • Developing and maintaining strong relationships with our network of local farmers and purveyors.
  • Managing inventory and food costs to maintain profitability.
  • Contributing to the development and execution of new recipe ideas.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience as a head chef or sous chef in a fast-paced restaurant or catering environment.
  • Proven experience in menu development and recipe creation with a focus on healthy, organic cuisine.
  • Strong understanding of dietary restrictions and ability to cater to a variety of needs (vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, etc.).
  • Exceptional leadership and communication skills to effectively manage and motivate a kitchen team.
  • Commitment to maintaining a clean, organized, and safe kitchen environment.
  • Proficiency in kitchen management software and strong organizational skills.
