A lovely family is looking for a long-term, live-out housekeeper for their newly renovated Upper East Side home. This is a full-time Monday through Friday role, 9am-5pm or, even better, a Monday through Saturday role with the 40 hours spread over the 6 days. Ideally the candidate would start in March, although the family are happy to be a little flexible around this- the most important thing is that they find a wonderful, experienced, and warm housekeeper who is up to the role.
The position will start in the new home before the family have moved in (and could actually be part-time for the first few months if that was preferred). Responsibilities will therefore include overseeing the final stages of the renovation, making sure the home is pristine for when the family move in, dealing with contractors and vendors when necessary, and obviously helping with the move itself. Once the family have arrived then the usual housekeeping duties will be required including, but not limited to, general cleaning, tidying and organising, deep cleaning, laundry and ironing, wardrobe management, occasional errands, and some care for the family's two cats. Prior experience caring for fine furnishings, fabrics, and artwork is preferred. The family enjoy entertaining, so flexibility around extra hours and helping with the preparation for guests would also be welcome.
The ideal candidate has plenty of prior experience, is fit and active, and able to manage a large, 6-story town-house. The role will be busy (although you will eventually be supported by a part-time housekeeper) so prior experience working as a team and with managing staff would be beneficial. Please also be organised, meticulous, and dedicated, with an eye for detail and a professional demeanour. The family value a positive, warm, and 'can-do' personality and would love to find a housekeeper looking for a long-term role. While there won't be much travel initially, it would be appreciated if candidates were open to travel domestically during the Summer (when the role would become live-in and part-time). Please be a little flexible around occasional extra hours and, if you are a confident cook, that would definitely be a bonus (but it isn't at all essential)! The home has both external and internal gardens so 'green fingers' and an interest would be helpful although also not essential. The family are offering between $35 and $45/hr, depending on experience. If you are interested in the position, have a US Passport, Green Card, or EAC, please apply to ZI139.
