ABOUT THE ROLE

The BD & Partnerships team exists to support the corporation’s product, user growth and go to market strategies with technical & channel partnerships that will help us to achieve our objectives. The team is evolving its strategy and organization to align with the company’s new focus on product-led growth, transformational search, and creative use cases in M&E and other segments. The partner manager role will cover three domains: (1) partner management (2) partner marketing and (3) partner operations. The ideal candidate will be comfortable with the evolving definition of the position and the team and the variety of responsibilities that comes with that. As the company and the team grow, this position will likely be refined. In other words, this job description is subject to change.

The role is both externally partner & customer facing, as well as internally facing. Internally, the partner manager interfaces to product/engineering for partner related product goals, to sales for partner related user growth & BD goals, and to corporate marketing for partner related marketing goals.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Partner Management

  • Partner management across engagement lifecycle from partner discovery to development to deployment
    • Recruiting partners, evaluating partners, determining partner specific relationship models, negotiating agreements, account planning, day to day management, BD and marketing opportunities with a focus on user growth

Partner Marketing

  • Partner marketing encompasses marketing to potential and existing partners, marketing with partners to augment our own market reach and amplify our message, and generally, leveraging partners to achieve our user growth objectives. The partner manager is responsible for identifying marketing opportunities and then contributing to the success of those programs with corporate marketing team
    • Examples: trade shows and other events, PR, promotions, case studies, social media, bundling offers, product-specific campaigns

Partner Operations

  • Recommend and implement partner operations framework & tactics such as partner portal content and management, partner database and mailing list, a partner directory, partner lead tracking, partner reporting and metrics

SKILLS AND REQUIREMENTS 

  • University degree in business or technology or equivalent work experience
  • 5 years of experience
  • Enthusiasm, excitement, and genuine interest in Bluescape, our product and our mission
  • Experience in business development, key account management, marketing, partner operations, ecosystem development an asset
  • Aptitude for understanding technology and industry value chains
  • Strong verbal, written, project management, and interpersonal communication skills as well as strong customer service orientation are required. Ability to present to both large and small audiences
  • Some travel may be required – visiting partners or participating at events
