About us
We are a property management company with experience but new to the Chicago area looking to build on our team to manage our portfolio of buildings in the Southside. We manage about 650 units and would love new members of our team to help build our community.
Overview:
We are seeking a highly organized and experienced Property Manager to oversee the daily operations of our properties. As a Property Manager, you will be responsible for maintaining the overall appearance and functionality of the properties, ensuring tenant satisfaction, and managing all administrative tasks related to property management.
Duties:
- Manage all aspects of property operations, including leasing, maintenance, rent collection, and tenant relations
- Conduct regular property inspections to ensure compliance with safety and maintenance standards
- Coordinate and oversee property maintenance and repairs, working closely with contractors and vendors
- Handle tenant inquiries, complaints, and requests in a timely and professional manner
- Advertise and market available units to attract prospective tenants
- Screen potential tenants through background checks, credit checks, and rental history verification
- Prepare lease agreements and enforce lease terms
- Collect rent payments and manage delinquencies
- Maintain accurate records of income, expenses, leases, inspections, and maintenance activities
- Stay updated on local laws, regulations, and fair housing practices
Skills:
- Proficiency in property management software - appfolio ideal
- Strong knowledge of facilities management practices
- Familiarity with Section 8 and other housing subsidy programs in Chicago
- Understanding of fair housing regulations and laws related to property management
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with tenants, contractors, and team members
- Strong problem-solving abilities to address maintenance issues or tenant concerns promptly
- Attention to detail in managing financial records and lease agreements
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time efficiently in a fast-paced environment
