About the Role

We are looking for a Technical Manager to join our team. Work alongside partners, developers, product owners, and designers in a fast-moving, cross-functional team to satisfy the customer through early and continuous delivery of valuable software. As a Technical Manager, you will play a pivotal role in driving innovation, fostering collaboration, and ensuring the successful delivery of our products. You’ll lead a talented team of developers, quality assurance professionals, and work closely with product managers contributing to the growth and excellence of our organization.

Our ideal candidate is organized, curious, and self-directing. This individual implements changes in people and processes and can juggle multiple projects and priorities with minimal supervision. You value and advocate for the reduction of waste. You are collaborative and can make a well-rounded contribution to the team.

This is a full-time position out of our Lexington, KY office and can be on-site, hybrid, or remote. If remote, you can expect to visit the office for new hire orientation and typically for team meetings once a quarter.

What You'll Do:

  • Full ownership over SDLC from initiation to deployment for multiple projects
  • Develop and deliver progress reports to internal and external partners
  • Facilitate agile ceremonies and ensure team deliverables are met
  • Proactively eliminate barriers and expedite team delivery
  • Drive continuous improvement by facilitating retrospectives and ensuring follow through
  • Provide strategic direction and technical vision for our software development initiatives
  • Oversee the end-to-end software development lifecycle, from requirements gathering to deployment
  • Work closely with product managers to translate business needs into technical solutions
  • Monitor and address any quality-related issues during development cycles

What We're Looking For: 

  • 2 years of experience in Agile methodology
  • Experience in leading projects to on-time and in-scope releases
  • The ability to work well with people of varying technical abilities
  • Demonstrate interpersonal and leadership skills required to interact with management, internal/external partners, and potential partners
  • Experience in supporting complex, multi-year projects
  • Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, a related field, or equivalent work experience

Bonus Points:

  • CSM (Certified Scrum Master), PMP (Project Management Professional), PSM (Professional Scrum Master), PMI-ACP (Agile Certified Practitioner), or equivalent
  • Experience in the veterinary market
  • Familiarity with ML and/or AI
