Bibb County School District is Hiring a Secretary to Director III - Instructional Technology Near Macon, GA
The Bibb County School District is now accepting applications for Secretary to Director III.
JOB SUMMARY: Under general supervision, uses independent judgment and initiative to perform a variety of clerical, office management and advanced secretarial duties in support of management, staff and/or operations of Bibb County's Technology Department.
REPORTS TO: Director of Instructional Technology
SCHOOL/DEPARTMENT Technology
QUALIFICATIONS: 1. Two year (2) college degree or post secondary training in a recognized secretarial training program, business education, or office management 2. Two year experience in secretarial work is required 3. Proficiency required on typing text 4. Experience working on current word processing, publication, and data base software application. NOTE: Skills assessment examinations will be administered.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Initiates, composes and types memos, correspondence, reports and other documents. 2. Serves as communications link between assigned unit and internal and external contacts. 3. Conducts comprehensive clerical research using a variety of resources to generate reports and respond to requests. 4. Completes tasks and assignments associated with administrative support functions in areas such as: personnel, budget, bookkeeping and facilities management. 5. Provides secretarial and clerical support to office personnel. 6. Establishes and maintains filing and record-keeping systems and reference manuals/ materials. 7. Maintains staff calendars and schedules appointments, meetings and conferences. May make travel and lodging arrangements for staff. 8. Monitors use and maintains supplies, equipment and/or facilities for assigned unit. 9. Collects and distributes incoming mail. Prepares for delivery and sends outgoing documents and other materials. 10. Enters data from forms, records and/or reports using a computer or terminal. 11. Attends seminars, conferences, job-related training and other staff development training programs. May serve on committees and task forces.
SALARY/TERMS/BENEFITS: 1. 239 day contract year; 8 hours per day 2. Salary Range: $18.94 - $20.04 hourly (Grade 47) (placement on salary schedule based on years of related experience). Up to ten years allowed. The stated salary range reflects the opportunity for pay over the course of the employee's tenure. For external candidates, the top pay is not a potential starting salary. 3.
