The Social Services Supervisor oversees social services and is responsible for supervising the work of the Engagement Specialists and the Intake Specialist and is responsible for overseeing the department in cooperation with other program management at a low-demand overnight shelter and program for homeless persons. The Social Services Supervisor assists in leading shelter operations to ensure that the social services needs of guests are met in a coordinated and consistent manner.

Job Responsibilities:

• Conduct group and individual supervision and supervise staff, including orientation, planning, organizing, directing work, conducting ongoing staff training, and providing referral assistance, as needed. Facilitate weekly team meetings, coordinate case review, and monitor/audit case files for compliance.
• Complete and maintain staff schedule for the program and arrange for coverage as necessary.
• Maintain a caseload of targeted guests.
• Build referral relationships and maintain regular communications with outside service providers.
• Provide primary responsibility for medication monitoring system, oversee completion of incident reports, manage guest administration in database.

Skill/Educational Requirements:

• Master of Social Work (MSW) or equivalent, required;
• 1-2 years previous supervisory experience required, in addition to demonstrated leadership qualities; team-oriented disposition;
• Strong interpersonal and organizational communication skills and;
• Proficient use of Microsoft Office.

Physical Requirements:

Requires repetitive movement of hands and fingers for typing and/or writing. Ability to communicate and exchange information. Frequent standing, sitting, walking, and climbing stairs, occasional stooping, kneeling or crouching, and lifting up to 25 lbs. Ability to reach with hands and arms and perform audio and visual assessments, as required.
