PERSONAL INJURY (PI) PARALEGAL
Law Firm seeking Paralegal experienced in personal injury.
SALARY: Starts at $50k-70k
Position is in-person at our Boca Raton office.
Job description, including but not limited to:
- General attorney support
- Preparing/drafting correspondence and pleadings
- Preparing/drafting correspondence and discovery
- Maintaining attorneys’ calendar
- Manage trial deadlines, prepare pre-trial binders/preparations
- Scheduling, coordinating and confirming hearings; depositions; mediation; EUO’s; ‘prep’ with attorneys’, meetings, etc.
- E-Filing with State/Federal courts
- Familiar with Civil Rules of Procedure in Florida and general understanding of how the case will flow in Litigation
- Knowledge of how a pre-suit matter works in Florida for Personal Injury, along with throughout the course of Litigation
- Issuing and following up on subpoenas (when applicable)
- Ensure documents are saved and filed into the appropriate document management system
Qualifications/Skills required:
- Punctuality, detail orientation with the ability to multitask in a fast paced environment and possess excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to take initiative in handling projects, anticipating what needs to be done, ability to understand, follow specific instructions in oral and written form
- Knowledge of state or federal court rules and e-filing procedures, or ability to review same for further reference
- Excellent typing skills; strong proficiency in Microsoft Office applications; PDF applications (Adobe, Foxit, etc.) and document/case management (preferably Client Profiles/Aderant);
- Secretarial/Clerical skill set
- Highly organized, self-motivating and self-starter
Must be diligent and positive worker, able to work in a team atmosphere, positive, self-starter and eager to learn and advance. Pay is commensurate with experience with bonus opportunities. Insurance Benefits after 90-day probationary period.
MUST have significant law firm experience. Personal Injury experience preferred but not required, knowledge of Personal Injury is required.
Bilingual: preferred, but not required
