Job Description for the Accounts Payable/Accounts Receivable Clerk

Key responsibilities for the Accounts Payable/Accounts Receivable Clerk

• Support Accounts Receivable by processing daily invoices/credit, applying cash receipts, and helping with collection of past due balances.
• Handle matching invoices to purchase orders and/or vouchers, data entry, and assisting in the process of Accounts Payable (A/P) and Accounts Receivable (A/R)
• Code documents using the proper classification of expenditure codes and accounting codes.
• Resolve discrepancies by examining possible sources of disagreement, recreating likely actions, and identifying the effect on other accounts; generate correction documents as required.
• Add financial information to journals and ledgers.

Preferred Requirements for the Accounts Payable/Accounts Receivable Clerk

• 1 years of accounting experience required
• Spreadsheet and ERP system experience is ideal, but not required
• Experience with high volume data entry
• Ability to multitask and communicate well with individuals of all backgrounds
• Accounts Receivable (AR) experience preferred
• Accounts Payable (AP) experience
