Barrios Technology is Hiring a Remote Chief People Officer

Overview

Barrios Technology has a need for a Chief People Officer to join the Executive Corporate Team.

As the Chief People Officer (CPO), you will be responsible for developing and executing human resource strategy in support of the overall business plan and strategic direction of the organization, specifically in the areas of succession planning, talent management, change management, organizational and performance management, training and development, and compensation. The CPO will provide strategic leadership by articulating HR needs and plans to the executive management team.

Responsibilities

** Executive Level Position **

The Chief People Officer (CPO) will:

  • Establish and implement HR efforts that effectively communicate and support the company's mission and strategic vision.
  • Develop HR plans and strategies to support the achievement of the overall business operations objectives.
  • Function as a strategic business advisor to the executive/senior management of each business unit or specialty group regarding key organizational and management issues.
  • Work with the company's executive management team to establish a sound plan of management succession that corresponds to the strategy and objectives of the company. 
  • Develop comprehensive strategic recruiting and retention plans to meet the human capital needs of strategic goals.
  • Develop and implement comprehensive compensation and benefits plans that are competitive and cost-effective.
  • Provide overall leadership and guidance to the HR function by overseeing talent acquisition, career development, succession planning, retention, training, leadership development, compensation and benefits globally. 
  • Perform all other assigned duties.

Qualifications

Required Education/Experience/Skills:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential job responsibility satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the education, knowledge, skills, experience, and/or abilities required.

  • Bachelor's degree in a business or technical discipline, or equivalent experience
  • Demonstrated managerial and supervisory experience with a minimum ten years’ experience in the defense and aerospace industries is preferred
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite of Software Applications
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate, and direct multi-level people and achieve results through others
  • Positive, self-directed approach
  • Excellent conflict resolution skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strategic and operational planning expertise with an action oriented perspective, sound problem analysis and logical thinking with the ability to develop effective solutions and execute to achieve desired results
  • Insightful, proactive nature with ability to anticipate future needs and events; to forecast conditions; to set goals/standards and measure results; and to effectively adapt to changing situations, unexpected issues and varied job demands
  • Ability to initiate and implement performance excellence initiatives addressing product quality, process efficiency, product costs and performance/output in response to operational objectives and customer demands
  • Experience in dealing with government agencies (NASA)
  • Successful experience managing and executing significant capital projects
  • Experience in budgeting, tracking costs, analyzing data and developing action plans

Essential Requirements:

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen and successfully complete a U.S. government background investigation.

  • Regular attendance in accordance with established work schedule is critical.
  • Ability to work outside normal schedule and adjust schedule to meet peak periods and surge requirements when required.
  • Must be able to work in a team atmosphere.
  • Must put forward a professional behavior that enhances productivity and promotes teamwork and cooperation.
  • Grooming and dress must be appropriate for the position and must not impose a safety risk/hazard to the employee or others.
  • This position may require some commuting and traveling to other installations as needed.
