Description

The CFO serves as the senior level strategic and functional finance leader. They are directly responsible for budgeting and overseeing day-to-day accounting and financial management, financial reporting, and audit preparation. They oversee all Finance functions and management of its staff team, which includes the Finance Director, Finance Specialist, Revenue Cycle Specialist, and Client Insurance Specialist. This position is responsible for maintaining efficient financial and operational systems, pursuing innovative solutions that support programs and services, and improve the Center’s ability to fulfill its mission. Duties

  • Oversee, coordinate, present, and monitor annual budget
  • Lead annual audit
  • Supervise Finance staff (currently Finance Director, Finance Specialist, Client Insurance Specialist, and Revenue Cycle Specialist)
  • Manage financial risk through periodic internal audits of payables and receivables
  • Attend Board and Finance Committee meetings to explain Center' ongoing financial position
  • Develop and monitor long and short term funding forecasts
  • Monitor cash flow
  • Develop and ensure compliance to internal control policies
  • Monitor allowable grant costs and billings
  • Oversee preparation of 990, TWC, 941's, W-2's, and 1099's
  • Update Fiscal Management policies and Cost Allocation Plan

Requirements

  • Graduation from an accredited graduate program required with a degree in Finance, Accounting, or equivalent.
  • Four (4) years progressively more responsible experience in finance or accounting management preferably with agencies that had missions and programs that are congruent with the Center’s mission and programs.
  • CPA preferred.
  • Knowledge and practice of professional principles/ethics, e.g. client and staff confidentiality, board/staff interrelations, non-profit tax-exempt agency operations.
  • Ability to plan, direct, delegate and coordinate work activities; to interview, train, and supervise; to assess and resolve work problems; to make decisions; to interpret and apply Board policy; to work cooperatively and effectively with professionals, community groups and individuals.
  • A perspective accepting of a wide variety of people's problems, attitudes and lifestyles. Good interpersonal skills and the ability to work on a team.
