The Job in short

As Product Manager - Flow Platform, you’ll drive the evolution of the platform engines that power our class-leading onboarding and origination solutions and enable our customers to orchestrate their customer-centric processes utilizing industry standard approaches such as Business Process Model and Notation (BPMN) and Decision Model and Notation (DMN). As our Platform PM, you will be the product expert for developer enablement when it comes to Flow Platform, enabling teams both inside and outside of Backbase to deliver innovative solutions that delight users with superior service and quick turnaround times.

Meet the job

  • Build products that solve developers’ problems in the context of business process automation and orchestration! Discover new possible solutions to help developers both in and out of Backbase when it comes to enabling the delivery and management of customer-centric business processes at scale;
  • You work collaboratively with your engineering squad to enable them to solve the right problems at the right time, sparring with your Engineering Manager as your leadership partner to ensure effective operations across the product life cycle;
  • You work in close contact with the Product and Engineering leadership teams as key stakeholders for your team, and frequently align with them to ensure that our overall vision is reflected in your roadmap and product plan;
  • You understand your wider stakeholders and ensure you collect requirements from the whole organization, that your understanding of those requirements and the issues you are trying to solve is solid and exhaustive, and keep stakeholders appraised of progress and future plans;
  • You break ideas down into achievable and meaningful features and iterations, enabling your squad to continually deliver valuable increments that can be adopted by customers, avoiding big-bang delivery;
  • Create and maintain the product roadmap for Flow Platform, including developer enablement/best practices, collaborating with other product teams to support the planning, refining, and prioritization of your desired outcomes aligned with our wider ambitions;
  • Make sure everybody knows about your product! Engage with customers and internal stakeholders, evangelizing and demonstrating your platform features and capabilities;
  • Facilitate open feedback loops with the onboarding and origination teams. Make sure they are implementing their solutions using best practices and have your full support to achieve their objectives;
  • Take care of the whole product life-cycle, from the creation of new features to the decommission of older unused ones;
  • Prioritize maintenance tickets, communicate with stakeholders about priorities, timelines for fixes, and plan tickets into future releases or patches;
  • Understand the market trends, worldwide technology, and development communities and assess technology readiness for adoption.

  • Able to comfortably communicate with the larger organization, leading presentations, workshops and requirement gathering sessions;
  • Have a clear understanding of the cost involved in developing and maintaining software, being able to formulate a business plan to justify roadmap items.
