Land Life is Hiring a Product Manager - Natural Climate Solutions Near Amsterdam, NH

At Land Life, our ambition is not just to create positive change, but to inspire it. We're on a mission to restore our planet's 2 billion acres of degraded land, by planting the right trees, at the right time, and in the right place; leveraging technology every step of the way; and unlocking carbon and other new markets to fund this work. Our team is global, our impact is significant, and now we're looking for an impact-driven Product Manager with carbon removal certification expertise and experience to join our Product Team.

THIS IS US

Land Life is an international scale-up with over 10 years of experience in nature restoration. Last year we planted 3.5 million trees worldwide and were recognised as an UpLink Top Innovator at the 2024 World Economic Forum in Davos. Read more about Land Life and our principles.

THE ROLE

Land Life’s Product Team translates our impact in the field into compelling offerings for our customers. As a Product Manager, you’ll play a crucial role in safeguarding and enhancing the commercial value of Land Life's carbon removal product. This entails both making sure that Land Life projects globally meet Verified Carbon Standard (VCS) requirements as well as researching into and ultimately spearheading Land Life’s diversification of carbon removal certification standards. Think along the lines of Gold Standard (GS), American Carbon Registry (ACR) or even emerging ones like the EU Carbon Removal Certification Framework (CRCF). You’ll be part of the Product team and report to James, the Head of Product.

Other than that, you will:

  • Be the go-to expert on all (VCS) certification-related subjects, making sure the Land Life-wide standard knowledge is up-to-date.

  • Track relevant carbon standards’ latest developments and (co-)craft the appropriate perspectives, responses, processes or actions for Land Life.

  • Assess and approve project pipelines to ensure compliance with internal and relevant standard criteria.

  • Ensure all documents, audits, registrations, and communications are duly filed, initiated, completed on time for Land Life’s global plantings under the right standards.

WHAT'S IN IT FOR YOU?

  • Work in a highly engaged, rapidly growing international nature-restoration company towards impact you can see;
  • 25 days paid leave;
  • Office in a beautiful location in Amsterdam, next to Oosterpark;
  • Daily free lunch at the office;
  • Hybrid and flexible working;
  • Weekly company workouts, work from home budget, pension scheme, etc.

THIS IS YOU:

  • First and foremost - you care. You care about creating the right impact and consistent, scalable quality in projects across Land Life’s global hubs.

  • You have min. 2 years of relevant work experience and proven working knowledge of at least two carbon certification standards for reforestation projects (e.g., CDM, VCS, GS, ACR, etc.). This is a hard requirement.

  • You thrive in a fast-paced environment where each day brings new challenges and opportunities for growth.

  • You have keen analytical skills and a strategic mindset, allowing you to effectively translate market and standard developments into concrete objectives, actions and desired outcomes.

  • You are both a good listener and communicator, allowing you to effectively enlist expert inputs, convey complex concepts and foster constructive discussions and decision making.

  • You are structured and have eyes for details, essential for you to effectively screen, select and make design improvements to an ever growing pipeline of reforestation opportunities

  • You have a MSc level degree OR comparable knowledge in relevant fields (e.g. forestry, environmental management, finance, economics, etc.)
