AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY
Marketing, Communications, & Outreach – 75%
1. Develop, create, and schedule compelling content for various social media platforms and monthly newsletter.
2. Lead community outreach efforts in Humboldt Park and surrounding neighborhoods through canvassing, attending fairs and other activities that promote awareness of Association House.
3. Assist in regular content creation for email and website.
4. Work with program staff and Marketing Coordinator to develop materials for program recruitment.
5. Work with development team on special projects, including Annual Report and Giving Tuesday.
Event Planning & Execution – 10%
1. Assist Marketing Coordinator in event design, planning, and execution of annual Faces of Hope gala and other ad-hoc events.
2. Monitor event-planning timelines and coordinate task completion across development team.
3. Work with vendors and suppliers to secure bids for service and needed supplies.
Administration – 10%
1. Attend weekly department meetings and periodic program meetings.
2. Monitor shared department email and forward inquiries to appropriate parties.
3. Maintain department expense tracker and monthly department credit card expense form.
4. Generate check requests, as needed.
5. Other related duties, as assigned.
Professional Development – 5%
1. Maintain knowledge of current marketing and social media trends and practices.
2. Attend a minimum of 8 hours of training annually related to the position.
3. Share information obtained at trainings and seminars with other staff members.
COMPETENCIES
1. Able to represent the agency in an outgoing and engaging manner.
2. Able to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
3. Able to follow instructions and prioritize work projects.
4. Able to work across teams and build strong relationships.
5. Able to use a computer and proficient in Microsoft Office Suite. Ability to learn role-specific tools, including Canva, Wix, MailChimp, and Adobe Creative Suite.
High school diploma or GED required.
1-2 years design or marketing experience (school projects are acceptable).
1-2 years outreach experience (volunteer service is acceptable).
Bilingual Spanish/English, preferred.
Previous experience utilizing social services, preferred.
Available for occasional evening or weekend events.
