Job Summary:
The Senior Content Marketing Specialist will work closely with colleagues across the organization to help drive a content and brand strategy focused on the goal of acquiring new customers, expanding current customer accounts, and establishing OpenGov as a thought leader for 21st-century public sector innovation. The Senior Content Marketing Specialist is responsible for the production of content and messaging of all forms that drive leads, build awareness, show thought leadership, engage customers, and deliver on business goals.
Responsibilities:
• Drive strategy and produce high-quality content, including webinar decks, enablement materials (e.g., creative briefs), ebooks, web copy, case studies, customer newsletters, and other editorial work as needed in collaboration with internal team leads, customers/thought leaders, and freelancers
• Edit content of all types, with a special eye for detail, for brand consistency and to optimize a variety of content mediums, including but not limited to blogs, website copy, social media, emails, case studies, videos, whitepapers, and ebooks
• Follow trends facing government leaders and recommend various content types based on those trends
• Project manage ad creation, social posts, videos, and other critical messaging, working with internal teams and freelancers
Requirements and Preferred Experience:
• 3-5 years of experience in marketing, journalism, consulting or similar field
•Proven track record of working cross-functionally and collaboratively
• Excellent verbal and written communicator
• Strong content writing samples or portfolio
• Willingness to do the work and dive head first into the marketing mix
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, pivot, and wear many hats
• Familiar with Marketo, Canva, Salesforce report building
• Experience in (or understanding of) government is a plus but not a requirement
