Job Summary: This is an onsite position at the customer location. Candidate must live within commutable distance to Albany, NY. The Senior Business Analyst will focus on a range of software related professional services such as report creation (Crystal Reports), data mining, interface and mobile technology management, dashboard creation and high-level system administration, internal training and implementation activities. These functions will be required while serving as a dedicated onsite resource for a state-wide, enterprise level customer in Albany NY. The role will report directly to the Professional Services Manager at AssetWorks and frequently interface with internal departments such as product development, quality assurance and customer care. The ideal candidate will have established experience in a similar professional services environment, specifically in the areas of business analysis, data mining, report creation, web application configuration and setup consulting, technical/functional specification creation and train-the-trainer training. Job Description: The Senior Business Analyst will have experience working with at least one of the following industries in relation to Asset Management, ideally with Fleet maintenance and management: Municipal or commercial fleet Local government public works State infrastructure agencies (i.e., DOT) Campus infrastructure or facilities organizations Utilities Description Essential Duties and Responsibilities Execute on all development stages of custom reports to include design, modify, develop, write and implement dynamic presentation quality reporting solutions using Crystal reports based on a relational database structure. Demonstrate an understanding and the ability to create and maintain database views to support reporting requirements as needed; familiarity and ability to create and maintain DLL’s a plus. Update existing Crystal reports while ensuring backwards compatibility. Create and deliver ad hoc reports as requested; familiarity with Izenda is a plus. Assist with data mining and general business analytics for decision making within the enterprise using the proprietary application as the primary source. Assist with process change as it relates to system design and configuration to achieve desired customer workflows. Understand and be able to effectively communicate the fundamentals of change management. Translate customer requirements into functional/technical specifications for enhancements, interfaces, conversions and/or reports. Resource will have access as an employee of AssetWorks to use internal systems and established protocols to resolve customer business need, such as support tickets, etc. Resource will be capable of trouble shooting existing AssetWorks’ built interfaces and use internal protocol (i.e., support case) for issues that need to be reviewed by other internal parties such as Customer Care or Development. Resource will work with both the customer and third-party vendors to ensure ongoing data integrations are successful with the customer as its representative in such interactions. Facilitate problem solving to effectively find resolutions within the AssetWorks' product to meet the customer's need. Provide weekly updates of progress and items worked to internal point of contact at customer for accountability, clarity on project status and potential changes in priorities. Manage testing cycle process with customer regarding enhancements, interfaces and custom reports. Deliver high quality, focused training classes for train-the-trainer on specific areas of the system per documented workflows. Deliver engaging, informative, well-organized presentations. Deliver training classes and presentations at annual customer user conference. Possesses general understanding in the areas of application programming, IIS, database and system design. Facilitate customer meetings effectively. Communicate relevant project information to direct manager and other departments (Development, Customer Care, QA, Sales) effectively and timely. Resolve and/or escalate issues in a timely fashion. Interface professionally with other internal departments. Understand how to communicate difficult/sensitive information tactfully. Communicate effectively to identify needs and evaluate alternative business solutions. Develop long-term, positive relationships with customer personnel increasing overall account satisfaction. Demonstrate strong financial and business acumen as pertains to corporate metrics and goals. Submit timesheets and expenses in a timely manner; this is a professional services position and time billed to the customer is tracked with detail for invoicing purposes. Position Requirements: The ideal candidate will possess a BA/BS degree from an accredited college or university with a major in Business Management and/or Computer Science, preferred; masters or advanced degree is a plus. The position requires: Preferably 5-7 years of professional work experience A minimum of 3-5 years’ experience with Business Objects Crystal reports, data analysis, and report writing Familiarity with Oracle and MSSQL relational database platforms Ability to write SQL queries with complex joins Experience with Tableau Familiarity with mobile workflow solutions and technology Proven experience working with large customers requiring complex solutions Excellent active listening, communication (verbal and written) and problem-solving skills Exhibits strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality work Thrive in a deadline-driven environment that may require work outside the normal timeframes Demonstrated organizational efficiency, time management skills and a willingness and ability to adapt to changing priorities High degree of professionalism and demonstrated ability to work productively with a wide range of customer personas Knowledge of various software development methodologies (waterfall, agile, etc.) Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite 365, particularly Excel, PowerPoint and Visio This is an onsite position at the customer location.
