Front Desk Receptionist/Office Administrator
JOB DESCRIPTION
Job Summary:
Arsulowicz Eye Care, LLC is a private optometry practice that has serviced the optical needs of West Michigan for nearly 50 years. This position will be responsible for delivering excellent patient care by providing wide-ranging office support and patient interaction. This position is full-time.
Responsibilities:
· Warmly welcome patients into the office and greet them with a smile.
· Prepare patient files for upcoming appointments: verify and confirm patient’s insurance benefits, request previous records, review account history.
· Confirm upcoming appointments by phone, as well as initiate written correspondence reminding patients that their recommended appointment interval is approaching
· Patient check-in upon arrival for their appointment: make copies of medication list, insurance card, update patient paperwork, take photo ID.
· Patient checkout upon completion of their appointment: schedule upcoming appointments as required, dispense patient education paperwork, receive payments, authorize invoices for insurance billing.
· Manage incoming phone calls: make appointments, take messages, coordinate referrals between patients and specialty offices.
· Manage the schedule: create schedule templates, monitor patient appointment slots and wait list, coordinate staff and representative appointments and meetings.
· Scan/file hard copies into patient medical record.
· Collaborate with other staff members regarding best-practice for schedule-keeping
· Other duties assigned
Required Skills:
· Consistency in delivering an excellent patient care and office experience
· Effective written and verbal communication skills: friendliness, problem-solving, confidence, empathy, honesty, active listening
· Multitasking in a variable-paced environment
· High school diploma with at least three years related work experience (some advanced education preferred)
· Desire for continuing education, training, and certification
· Capacity to proficiently navigate an Electronic Medical Records program; requires strong computer skills with Windows based programs
· Attention to accuracy, detail, time-management
· Punctuality and reliability
· Strong interpersonal skills for relationship-building and teamwork
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $15.00 - $20.00 per hour
Expected hours: 35 – 40 per week
