Arrowhead Country Club one of the finest medium market Country Clubs in the Upper Midwest is currently searching for a COO / General Manager. The Club was founded in 1954 and has enjoyed a rich history and dedicated membership. Since that time the Club has grown into a premier Private Club with full membership categories.
The current leadership team is filled with long – term professionals dedicated to the success of Arrowhead Country Club. There are approximately 500 club members in three age - related membership categories. The Club has 18 holes of golf, 3 indoor and 2 outdoor lighted tennis courts, a newly renovated Clubhouse with superior banquet facilities for 200 members and guests, 3 – member dining and lounge areas, 1 adult and 1 children’s pool with patio dining, a large active fitness center, golf shop, well – stocked locker rooms, club storage and a number of other member amenities.
The Rapid City population draw in 2024 is approximately 145,000. Rapid City is one of the fastest growing cities in the Midwest. The Club has employed 2 General Managers in the last 10 years.
GM / Salary Range and Benefits:

Position Summary:
Serves as the General Manager / COO of the entire team at The Arrowhead Country Club; manages all aspects of the club including all activities and the relationships between the club and its Board of Directors, members, guests, employees, community, government and industry. Coordinates and administers the club’s policies as defined by its Board of Directors. Creates a Platinum service culture to deliver the highest quality products and services to the membership. Oversees the financial security of the Club and reviews the financial statement with the Board of Directors at the monthly Board meeting and as requested. Develops operating policies and procedures and directs the work of all department managers. Implements and monitors the budgets, and ensures maximum member and guest satisfaction. Secures and protects the club’s assets, including facilities and equipment.

Food and Beverage Director – Executive Chef; Controller – CFO; Golf Professional; Golf Course Superintendent; Events Director; Service Manager: Activities Director; Maintenance Director and Receptionist
Responsibilities:
Administrative and Financial Duties
a. Implements general policies established by the Board of Directors; directs their administration and execution
b. Plans, develops, approves and oversees specific operational policies, programs, procedures and methods in concert with general policies
c. Coordinates the implementation of the club’s Strategic and annual (business) plans
d. Serves as the Club’s Ambassador to the membership, guests and community
e. Manages the club’s communication programs and content
f. Develops, maintains and administers a sound organizational plan; initiates improvements as necessary
g. Establishes a basic personnel policy; initiates and monitors policies relating to personnel actions and training and professional development programs
h. Maintains membership with professional associations to develop and continue club management education. Attends conferences, workshops and meetings to keep abreast of current information and developments in the Club industry
i. Directs development of operating and capital budgets according to the club’s budget calendar; monitors monthly and other financial statements for the club; takes effective corrective action as required
j. Coordinates and serves as ex-officio member of appropriate club committees
k. Provides advice and recommendations to the President, Board of Directors and committees about construction, alterations, maintenance, materials, supplies, equipment and services not provided in approved plans and/or budgets
l. Consistently assures that the club is operated in accordance with all applicable local, state and federal laws
m. Oversees the care and maintenance of all the club’s physical assets and facilities
n. Analyzes financial statements, manages cash flow and establishes controls to safeguard funds. Reviews income and costs relative to goals; takes corrective action as necessary
o. Attends meetings of the club’s Board of Directors and committees
p. Participates in outside activities that are judged as appropriate and approved by the Board of Directors to enhance the prestige of the club; broadens the scope of the club’s operation by fulfilling the public obligations of the club as a participating member of the community
q. Develops the marketing plans for the Club’s membership and recruitment efforts
Membership
a. Coordinates efforts to recruit new members to the club
b. Welcomes new club members in a new member orientation. Reviewing the club’s facilities, policies and Leadership Team members
c. Coordinates the marketing and membership relations programs to promote the club’s services and facilities to potential and present members
d. “Meets and greets” all club members as practical during their visits to the club
e. Develops and implements a Board approved member retention plan
f. Reviews and initiates programs to provide members with a variety of popular events
Staff Management
a. Establish weekly meetings with the management staff to ensure proper
communication and coordination
b. Ensure Platinum standards for food, beverage, sports and recreation, entertainment and other club services
c. Establishes and monitors compliance with purchasing policies and procedures
d. Works with subordinate Leadership Team and department heads to schedule, supervise and direct the work of all club employees
e. Hires, reviews, mentors and disciplines leadership team members as needed
f. Manage the Club’s benefit and amenities offerings
g. Set standards for all employees and actively promote a positive work environment where teamwork is highlighted.
Communications Management
a. Creates a communication plan to ensure the membership, committees and Board of Directors are update on a timely basis for all club news and events
b. Develop a communication plan for the leadership team and staff to ensure longevity, collaboration and necessary input to maximize The Arrowhead CC success
c. Investigate new options and opportunities of communication to ensure each Club demographic feels included and engaged in The Arrowhead CC.
d. Update all Social media options to ensure the maximum inclusion of all members and their families
e. Review all areas of communication semi – annually and report to the Board of Directors during Board meetings.
